About Us:

As President and Vice-Chancellor and on behalf of the entire Acadia University community, including its more than 25,000 graduates, I welcome you online and invite you to learn more about our university. Acadia has a well-earned reputation for excellence and has been offering students a unique experience since its founding 173 years ago. This is a special place that allows students to study in an environment where there is an amazing connection to their professors, the community, and the world.

Wolfville is a quintessential college town that welcomes students and, when university is in session, features a population that is almost equally balanced between university students and full-time residents. This means that Acadia and its activities - from sports and leisure to arts and culture - are integral to the town. Acadia and Wolfville represent a safe and vibrant community that will quickly become our students' home away from home.

During my career as an educator, I have had the opportunity to work with people from universities and colleges across Canada. Acadia's professors have always been regarded as among the most innovative teachers, researchers and community leaders in our nation; and its graduates are among the best performers, whether they choose to pursue graduate studies or enter the job market.

Academic Programs:

At Acadia, we teach you to question. Our faculty members will challenge you to think critically. To debate and engage. And to enjoy intellectually challenging academic programs. Our small classes provide a personalized learning atmosphere that fosters student success. Acadia is nationally and internationally recognized as a centre of research excellence. Our faculty's dual commitment to instill a love of learning and to generate new knowledge provides our students with unique partnerships with faculty, both to do research and to communicate and connect that research to the community.
