kendriya vidyalaya Admissions to Go Online in 2016

New Delhi:
Admissions to Class I in the 1,128 kendriya Vidyalayas (KVs) will be done online from 2016-17. The decision was taken at the last hoard meeting of kendriya vidyalaya sangathan (KVS). According to senior KVS officials, over 10 lakh students apply every year. ‘Around 1.5 lakh students are likely to be enrolled in the forthcoming session.’ They added. ‘we are hopeful we will be able to implement this from the next academic session,’said U N Khaware, additional commissioner (academics) of KVS.

Currently, parents have to go to the school of their choice and submit applications for admission. Once the online procedures are implemented, they will be able to apply through a centralized portal. Parents can go online and search for KVs close to their residence, and also check the status of their application and the number of seats available at each KV.

“The online admission process will ensure trans-parency. Schools will upload their details, and all the data will be available at one place, “said Partha sarthi Mohanty, senior vice-president of MGRM Net limited, the agency which has created the online portal for KVS.
