DU may hold common test for BA (Hons) in journalism

New Delhi: For the convenience of aspirants, Delhi University is planning to conduct a common entrance test for the sought - after BA (honours) journalism course this year. All five colleges offering the course — Delhi College of Arts and Commerce, Kalindi, Kamala Nehru, Lady Shri Ram and Maharaja Agrasen — are likely to be a part of the test which is scheduled to be held on June 19. The discussions on finalizing the modalities of admission are still on. The entire application procedure will be conducted online.

Maharaja Agrasen College at Vasundhara Enclave is coordinating the common entrance test in its debut year. “Till last year, students had to run from one college to another to apply for BA (honours) journalism. Many times, the entrance test dates of different colleges clashed because of which they even had to give up on their chance in a college. Having a common test for admission will solve this problem,” said Sunil Sondhi, principal, Maharaja Agrasen College.

“All five colleges offering journalism will be a part of it. We have already conveyed the date of the entrance test to the university which is June 19. The application process will be online on the pattern of BBE, BBS and BFIA admissions,” he added.

Sondhi expects nearly 4,000 applicants this time. There will be a separate portal for the application process which is going to include fee submission and grievance redressal too.

The portal will be linked to the DU website as well as the websites of individual colleges
