Admission Committee Permits Colleges to Admit Without Qualifying Examination

AHMEDABAD:
The Admission Committee for Professional Courses has decided that in the vacant seats in Master of Business Administration and Master of Computer Application, and for the Master of Engineering and Master of Pharmacy, the colleges will be free to admit students even if they have not appeared for their qualifying aptitude test. The students seeking admission to MBA and MCA have to appear for the Common Management Aptitude test, while those seeking admission in ME and M.Pharm have to appear for the Post Graduate Engineering Common Entrance Test.

Officials in the ACPC said that even in 2014 the self-finance colleges had admitted around 2000 students who were admitted without the CMAT examination. The board officials said that the decision to admit students with CMAT was taken as the seats were falling vacant in all the SFI colleges. The officials said that the same decision was taken in Degree Engineering where the SFI colleges were given permission to admit students who have not appeared for the Joint Entrance Examination.
