About BHU PMT:

 

Banaras Hindu University ranks among the first few in the country in the field of academic and research output. This university has two campuses, 3 institutes, 16 faculties, 140 departments, 4 advanced centers and 4 interdisciplinary schools. The University is making its mark at the national and international levels in a number of frontier areas of Science, Social Science, Technology, Medicine and Agriculture Etc. Students are admitted to the Banaras Hindu University through the Pre-Medical Entrance Exam (BHU PMT) .The Banaras Hindu University rely primarily on the BHU exam to admit students. The students are admitted to MBBS/BDS/BMS only on the basis of their PMT score obtained.

BHU PMT Exam:

 

All India Competitive Written Test for admission to MBBS courses (63 seats) in two stages:

  • PMT/PAT Screening
  • PMT Main

The Banaras Hindu University will hold All India Competitive Written Test for admission to MBBS course (84 seats) in two stages: PMT screening and PMT MAIN, and to BDS (38 seats)/BAMS (78 seats) / B. Pharm. (33 seats) courses in one stage: PMT Screening.

Eligibility:

 

Passed Intermediate, 10+2 or equivalent examination in English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology (Zoology + Botany) taken together; (i) For MBBS/BDS/BAMS/B.Pharm. (Ay.) – A minimum of 50% for general and 40% aggregate marks for OBC/SC/ST candidates; (ii) For B. Pharm. – A minimum of 60% marks for general & OBC and 55% aggregate marks for SC/ST candidates. Candidates appearing in qualifying examination may also apply.

 

BHU Distribution of Seats: M.B.B.S.(84 seats) : General – 42; OBC – 23; SC – 13 and ST – 6; BDS (38 seats each): General – 19; OBC – 10; SC – 6 and ST – 3; BAMS (78 seats) : General – 36; Foreign National – 3; OBC – 21; SC – 12 and ST – 6; B.Pharm.(seats, 33): General – 17; OBC – 9; SC – 5 and ST – 2. Three percent seats are reserved for physically challenged candidates in all the categories of the above courses.

 

Age: Completed 17 years but not crossed 25 years as on 31st December, admission of the year.

 

List of BHU PMT centers:

 

The BHU PMT screening test will be conducted at the following centers: Varanasi, Delhi, Kolkata, and Hyderabad. The main examination of BHU PMT will be conducted in June.
