Vignan Institute of Technology and Management (VITAM) is located at Berhampur in Ganjam district of (southern) Odisha. VITAM was established in the year 2008 under the aegis of Vignan Educational Trust. The institute is affiliated to Biju Patnaik University of Technology, Odisha and recognised by AICTE, New Delhi.VITAM has been a brain child and first venture of Vignan Educational Trust, which has been formed to produce world class technocrats from the state of Odisha and Eastern India. The trust was formed by true professionals having excellent experience in Engineering institutions holding various positions for several years. Eligibility:

B.Tech. : Programs either after passing (or appearing) +2 OR after passing (or appearing) 3rd Year Diploma examination.

M.Tech. : Programs can apply either after passing (or appearing final semester exam) B.Tech. or any other degree equivalent to B.Tech. in respective field with an aggregate of 50 % Marks or more.

M.B.A. : Programs can apply either after passing (or appearing final year/semester exam) B.Tech./B.Sc./B.Com./B.A. or any other degree equivalent to B.Tech./B.Tech./B.Sc./B.Com./B.A. with an aggregate of 50 % Marks or more.

Admission Procedure:

B.Tech. : The following criteria are needed in time of Admission/Joining for B.Tech Program, if the candidate has passed/appeared +2 Examination:

• Candidate have passed Matriculation / 10th Class
• Candidate have passed/appearing +2 Examination

            OR

• Candidate have passed/appearing 3rd Year Diploma Examination
• Candidate should posses a valid Rank card of engineering entrance exam
• Candidate should carry a Conduct or Character Certificate
• Candidate should have Nativity or Residence Certificate
• Candidate should bring Transfer Certificate or College Leaving Certificate and Migration Certificate

M.Tech. : Added to above criteria, the candidate should posses a valid Rank card for admission to PG courses or a valid score of any other equivalent entrance exam.

M.B.A. : Added to above criteria, the candidate should posses a valid Rank card for admission to PG course (M.B.A.) or a valid score of any other equivalent entrance exam.

Facilities:

Hostels : VITAM is a residential cum day scholar institute and provides accommodation to students wishing to reside in the hostels. VITAM Residential facility comprises of well furnished Boys Hostel and Girls Hostel. Each hostel of the institute is an independent unit in respect to its internal administration under the overall supervision of the Council of Wardens and the Hostel & Institute Management. The hostel is administered by a Warden appointed by the Director/Dean and he/she is assisted by an Asst. Warden (if require) in all matters relating to the hostel.

Internet, Uninterrupted Power & Computing Facilities :

• Uninterrupted Power Backup Facility : The Academic blocks, Administrative block, Lecture Halls ,Workshop, Central Library, Computing Facilities and all the Laboratoriesare connected with Power supply & Back up to the tune of 125 KVA and 62.5 KVA to cater the need of uninterrupted power supply, 24x7 in the campus and hostels.
• Internet and Networking Facility : Campus is equipped with LAN connectivity through wireless connectivity, 30 MBPS Leased line from BSNL and Relience Supported by 10 Numbers D-link Layer-2 managed switches, 17 Numbers DAX Layer-2 managed switches, 8 Numbers of 10 KVA online UPS and 60 KVA online UPS.
• Computing Facility : 500+ Computers are distributed in Eight Computing Labs for students' use and practicing purpose.

Sports & Games Facilities : Sports and games are not only about competing and winning medals, but also about the refreshment, joy and enjoyment of having fun with “just playing” theme. Sport is something that brings together one and all with fun and excitement. Games and sports are the structured activities, usually undertaken for enjoyment and sometimes used as an educational tool. Games are distinct from work, which is usually carried out for remuneration and from art, which is more concerned with the expression of ideas.

Canteen & Shopping Complex  :

• VITAM Canteen : Campus Canteen is located in the ground floor of the Open Auditorium and Central Library. The canteen provides breakfast, lunch and dinner to all the staff members and student community, plus provides catering services in lots of events hosted by different departments, placement cell, staff clubs and management of VITAM.
• Shopping Complex : The Shopping complex is located ground floor of the Open Auditorium and Central Library. It hosts a range of shops providing scope for refreshment, photocopying, printing, laundry and some materials needed in day-to-day life.
• Bank-ATM : The Campus is also having ATM facilities for providing services to its staffs and students.

Student Counselling Cell : The Student Counselling Cell aims at helping students to reach their highest academic and personal potential. This may involve helping with personal, learning and career concerns and promoting success and wellness among them. This cell helps to provides a confidential atmosphere in which students can explore any topic or situation and discuss any concerns they may have. The students are helped to work through their problems, to develop self awareness, and to overcome problems. Institute life can be fun and fulfilling, providing the students various opportunities to acquire new skills and knowledge and to develop character. Such overall development acts as important milestone before one joins the workforce and launch his/her career.

Students’ Grievance Cell : Grievance cell was opened on 10th October 2012, and is headed by Prof.(Dr.) M.B.N.V. Prasad (Dean - VITAM). The function of the Students’ Grievance cell is to look into the complaints, harassment and any problems lodged by any student, and judge its merit.

Transportation : The Institute have a fleet of 14 buses, small vehicles and cars . VITAM has the provision to provides transport facility to all of its staffs and students from almost all parts of the city and even from adjacent places (like Chatrapur, Gopalpur and Hinjilikatu) throughout the year.
