About Us:


The Delhi School of Communication (DSC) is a 17 year old institute located in New Delhi. DSC offers a two years Post Graduate Diploma Programme in Communication. This is a dual qualification programme where students are awarded a Masters in Mass Communication from Guru Jambheshwar University (UGC recognized & AICTE approved) along with a PGDPC. Today the PGDPC is recognized as amongst the finest integrated communications programme in the country heavily interfaced with industry practice. The DSC programme is a broad based course covering Advertising, Public Relations, Marketing, and Event Management. DSC was started by a group of industry leaders and academicians in 1995, who felt a need to better align academics with industry requirements. The academic curriculum comprises twenty one core courses in General Business and three specializations of five/ six courses each in Advertising, Marketing and Journalism. Public Relations and Events are the other two areas covered extensively in the course. The depth and breadth of subjects covered provides for a holistic understanding of the role and working of contemporary mass media and marketing organizations within the dynamic global socio-economic structure.

 

The faculty teaching the two –year programme along with the GJU degree comprises committed practitioners, proven academicians, researchers and scholars in Marketing, Advertising and other industries. Work exposure via internships is therefore is an integral part of the programme. DSC students are placed for internships (full day work experience) for upto 4 months and are placed for apprenticeships (half day work experience) between 3 to 6 months. Students earn attractive stipends alongside obtaining valuable work experience. Work experience gained during the program combined with industry faculty ensure placements in leading agencies such as JWT, Edelman, Genesis BM, Perfect Relations & McCann Erikson, Mudra upto 3 months before graduation.

Eligibility:

Graduates or those graduating in any stream in 2012 may apply for the DSC programme. Work experience in communications is preferred though not mandatory.
