SIOM is an effort to nurture the students mindsets and skills so that they master the ability to manage ambitious corporate growth by achieving cost excellence, acquiring market excellence rapidly, strengthening and customizing design and building global / regional operating footprints. SIOM is born out of the conviction that engineers, if forged and chiseled in an exclusive B-School environment can be outstanding business techno – professionals atop the current competitive markets by developing the critical and required traits.At SIOM we shall produce managers with broad based knowledge, practical and analytical ability, leadership qualities and effective inter-personal skills.

MBA Operations

The SIOM Operations Management specialization empowers each engineer with sharp engineering and scientific capabilities along with smart business management disciplines. The students are dressed to tackle planning, development, and implementation tribulations that their organization might confront. The curriculum deals with topics such as supply chain management, project management, technology management, modeling dynamic systems, and quality management

Eligibility Criteria

Eligibility of the Programme:

Graduate Engineers BE/ B Tech of any stream from statutory University with 50% aggregate marks (45% for SC/ST candidates)

Our objective is to select a composed confident communicator who is open minded enough to be willing to learn and change, a person who has clarity of vision for self and is focused towards Operations Management specialization as his goal by self-motivation and direction, a  person with seeking mind for proficiency in tools & systems thinking towards operations excellence within enterprises. We are also looking out for a team player with appropriate leadership qualities that are expressed in his ability to work along with others and also to get work done effectively, someone who has a balanced approach towards life with importance given both to curricular and extra-curricular development. This MBA programme also calls for candidates who have the spirit of taking on challenges with the grit and determination to make it happen and a socially aware and sensitive person with willingness to share with humility.

The Group Exercise, Personal Interview & Written Ability test (GEPIWAT) process is being designed to select most deserving aspirants.  The process will be conducted ONLY at SIOM campus so that aspirants can have the first hand feel of the campus and also interact with existing students to understand the Institute & its offerings better.

The overall process will be as mentioned below:

Selection Process at a glance

 Round I

 Stage - 1      Written Assessment Test (WAT) 

                     Candidates will be given a written assignment/ essay/topical write-up to be completed in 10 minutes. They will be judged on their written communication skills like the content, language, grammar, presentation etc. for 10 marks.

  Round II

 Stage – 2   Group Exercise

                   Candidates will be given an exercise /activity to be completed in group within specified time. They will be assessed for 30 marks on their communication skills, team working, problem solving ability etc

  Round III

 Stage - 3  Eligibility document verification

                  Candidate will show their original documents pertaining to all information submitted in their application form particularly education, work experience, achievement as mentioned in the interview call letter.

 Stage – 4   Personal Interview

                   Each candidate will be individually interviewed by  an expert two member panel comprising of academicians/ HR professionals/ Operations management  experts / corporate executives to assess his/her overall personality effectiveness, attitude, fitment to the programme, curricular and co-curricular performance,  professional achievements,  tenure of work experience , its relevance to programme  etc. The personal interview process will carry 60 marks.
