Sri Venkateshwara Institute of Engineering is a co-educational institution affiliated to the Anna University, Chennai. The college is run by the Lakshmi Educational and Research Institutions Trust. The trust was established on 18th Dec 2005 and has its registered office at 11/7 Krishnappa Lay Out, Co-op Colony, Krishnagiri, Tamilnadu.

The trust has objectives, inter alia, to provide quality education to the rural and poor students right from school to arts and science and Engineering field. Besides, it aims to foster quality and reliable teachers through its Teacher Training Institution and B.Ed college. It also aims to promote quality education across the fields in future with a view to reach out to the rural mass. As part of providing quality education in the field of Engineering, the trust has promoted Sri Venkateshwara Institute of Engineering at NH-7, Bangalore main road, Melumalai, Krishnagiri Dist-635 115. Presently the college offers graduate degree courses in Civil, Mechanica, Electrical and Electronics, Computer Science and Engineering and Electronics and Communication Engineering disciplines.
