About Us:


The Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas (MOP&NG), Government of India set up The Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Petroleum Technology (RGIPT) at Jais, Dist. Rae Bareli, Uttar Pradesh through an Act of Parliament (“Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Petroleum Technology Act 2007"). RGIPT has been accorded the eminence of being an “Institute of National Importance” along the lines of the Indian Institutes of Technology (IIT). The Institute is empowered to award degrees in its own right. RGIPT is co-promoted as an energy domain specific institute by six leading Oil Public Sector Units (ONGC, IOCL, OIL, GAIL, BPCL and HPCL) in association with the Oil Industry Development Board (OIDB). The Institute is associating with leading International Universities/Institutions specializing in the domain of Petroleum Technology.


The prime objective of the Institute is to provide world class education, training, and research to roll out efficient human resources to meet the growing requirements of the Petroleum & Energy sector. The aspiration is to develop India as a global manpower hub for the entire Petroleum and Energy Sector. RGIPT has an ambitious plan—to offer a number of Bachelors Degree and Masters Degree programs, PG diploma courses and Doctoral programs in Petroleum Technology and Management in phases. From the academic year 2008-2009, RGIPT has been imparting the MBA program and two Technical programs.

Eligibility: 


For MBA:
 

  • A candidate must hold a minimum 50% in aggregate (45% for SC/ST) in Class 10.
  • A candidate must hold a minimum 50% in aggregate (45% for SC/ST) in Class 12.
  • Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree recognized by the AICTE/UGC/institute/University incorporated by Act of Parliament/State legislature, university declared to be deemed as a University under section 3 of UGC Act, 1956, with 50% marks (45% for SC/ST).
  • Candidates meeting the above eligibility criteria and have appeared at latest Common Admission Test (CAT) conducted by IIMs, Xavier Aptitude Test (XAT)/GMAT are eligible to apply.

Candidate appearing for final year examination of programme are also eligible to apply based on the following conditions:

a. Such candidate must produce a certificate from the authority of the university/ institution certifying that:

  1. The candidate has obtained 50% marks or equivalent based on latest available grades/marks (i.e. all the years’ grade/marks except the final year grade/marks), or
  2. The candidate has completed all the requirements and has appeared for the examinations / practical etc. for the final year/final term and that the result is awaited for obtaining the bachelor's degree/ equivalent qualification. Such candidates, if selected, should submit the final year mark sheet and certificate on the registration date (Friday, July 01, 2016) notified by the Institute.

 

b. Non-fulfillment of the above conditions will result in the cancellation of the provisional admission.

 

How to AppIy:


For MBA:
Application Fee: 
A non-refundable application fee of Rs. 1000/- (Rs. 500/- for SC/ST candidates) to be paid by the applicant.

 

Term wise Fee Structure:

  • Tuition fee: Rs.70,000/-
  • Academic Resource: Rs. 6,050/-
  • Text Books/Study Materials/Softwares: Rs. 5,000/-
  • One-time fee (including Rs. 4,000/- refundable): Rs. 6,000/-

#The fee structure presented above is indicative and may undergo change.

Students belonging to SC/ST category will be eligible for 50% concession in the Tuition fee.

The candidates as per the final selection list are required to pay the first Trimester fee by Monday, 23 May, 2016 to confirm their admission.

 

WAT and PI Centres: WAT & PI will be conducted at the following Centres:

  • NOIDA (UP), Mumbai, Bangalore, Kolkata, Guwahati, Kochi.

From the above list of WAT & PI Centres applicants are required to give their preferences of top two WAT & PI Centres in the application form. Only if the number of applications for the Centres is more than a critical number to be decided by the Department of Management Studies, RGIPT, then WAT & PI Centre will be allocated. As far as possible the candidates will be allotted their first preference Centre.

 

Hostel: NOIDA has numerous private hostel facilities available including near our location. DoMS, RGIPT will identify safe and hygienic hostel facilities available for both male and female students can rent accommodation. All necessary help will be provided. There is also good metro connectivity from Delhi & National Capital Region. Autos and Taxis from the nearest metro station (NOIDA City Centre) to the institute are readily available.
