Sensing the ever - growing need for competent & highly trained professionals endowed with rich business acumen, skills & aptitude to operate in the highly complex & fast - changing economic & industrial environment, the ‘Harish Chandra Vidyalaya Society’, an educational body, registered under the Societies Registration Act, 1860, established a non - profit educational centre, Harish Chandra Post Graduate College, in Varanasi with an avowed mission of imparting highly innovative business management & pharmacy education in the eastern part of India which was expected to be the need of the hour with the country's economy heading so fast towards globalisation. The institute of pharmacy was established in the year 2005 with an emphasis on providing courses of study & preparing trained manpower in the field of pharmacy in the eastern part of U.P. The institute is providing every opportunity & environment to the students for the exchange of views & updating the knowledge by organizing guest lecturers / Workshops / Seminars / Symposium / Conference in the field of pharmaceutical sciences. The institute is emerging as the centre of excellence & is equipped with modern laboratory & latest equipments with other essential facilities such as Herbal Garden, Animal House etc. The B.Pharmacy course is run at Bawan Beegha premise which is the 2nd campus of Harish Chandra PG. College at a distance of about 8 kms. from Cantt Railway Station & also at the same distance from the main campus of the college at Maidagin, on the Varanasi - Azamgarh Road. The peaceful & lush green campus spread over an area of 1 7 acres, has a state of art building & amenities such as canteen, playground, un - interrupted power supply, potable drinking water, vehicle stand, transport facilities etc.

Admission Procedure:

For B.Pharmacy: Admissions on Normal Seats in B.Pharmacy is made through Uttar Pradesh State Entrance Examination (UPSEE) held every year in the month of April - May followed by counselling conducted by the U.P Technical University from amongst the students declared successful in the said examination. The eligibility criteria for appearing in the UPSEE Examination for the B.Pharmacy course are determined by UP Technical University & U.P State Govt. from time to time basis. Direct Admission to 2nd year (For Diploma Holders): Direct admission to 2nd year B.Pharmacy will be given to students of D.Pharmacy having Aggregate 60% (1st & 2nd year) from P.C.I approved Institutes. Seats in addition to the sanctioned intake at 1st year level are limited to maximum of 10% & will be reserved for such candidates.

Placements:

The Institute takes the onus of placing the students at organisations where they could be paid unto the maximum of their calibre. A full - fledged ‘Training & Placement Cell’ having a dynamic team of teachers & students, work to approach the organisations. The Institute has a successful placement record for its pass out batches. Campus interviews are arranged within the campus on time to time basis for providing the opportunities to the students.
