Admission Process:

 

For B.E:

 

For the purpose of admission, a candidate shall have passed the Qualifying Examination with minimum eligibility criteria of percentage of marks in subjects prescribed by AICTE from time to time from,

 

The Gujarat Board; or

 

The Central Board of Secondary Education:

 

Provided That:

 

The school in which the candidate has studied, shall have been located in the State of Gujarat; or

 

The school in which the candidate has studied, shall have been located in the Union Territories of Daman and Diu or Dadra and Nagar Haveli and whose parents are of Gujarat origin; or

 

The Council of Indian School Certificate Examination, New Delhi:

 

Provided that:

 

The school in which the candidate has studied, shall have been located in the State of Gujarat; or

 

The school in which the candidate has studied, shall have been located in the Union Territories of Daman and Diu or Dadra and Nagar Haveli and whose parents are of Gujarat origin; or

 

The National Institute of Open Schooling:

 

Provided that:

 

The study Centre/ school in which the candidate has studied, shall have been located in the State of Gujarat; or

 

the study Centre/ school in which the candidate has studied, shall have been located in the Union Territories of Daman and Diu or Dadra and Nagar Haveli and whose parents are of Gujarat origin; or

 

The International School Board:

 

Provided that:

 

The study Centre/ school in which the candidate has studied, shall have been located in the State of Gujarat; or

 

The study Centre/ school in which the candidate has studied, shall have been located in the Union Territories of Daman and Diu or Dadra and Nagar Haveli and whose parents are of Gujarat origin; and

 

Have appeared in JEE (Main) conducted in the corresponding academic year.

 

A candidate whose parents are of Gujarat origin and are serving out of the Gujarat in the service of Central Government or other State Government, Armed Forces, Boards or Corporations owned or controlled by the Central Government or other State Government or any nationalized bank and who has passed the qualifying examination from the State where parents are serving and has appeared in the JEE (Main) conducted in the corresponding academic year, shall be eligible for admission and his candidature shall be included in the merit list prepared in accordance with the provisions of rule 11.

 

A candidate who has passed the Qualifying Examination from any other State and,

 

has appeared in JEE (Main) conducted in the corresponding academic year; and

 

whose parents are serving in the category of services as shown below and who are transferred from other States to Gujarat and have resumed their duties in the place where they are transferred in the state of Gujarat at the time of registration for admission, shall be eligible for admission and his candidature shall be included in the merit list prepared in accordance with the provision of Rule 11.

 

For M.E:

 

For the purpose of admission, a candidate shall have,

 

passed the qualifying examination in the relevant discipline, as specified in column 4 of Appendix I with 50% (45% of SC/ST/SEBC candidates) marks at the qualifying examination, and

 

obtained the qualifying marks in GATE in the relevant discipline for engineering and GPAT for pharmacy

 

A sponsored candidate shall have,

 

passed the qualifying examination in the relevant discipline, as specified in column 4 of Appendix I with 50% (45% of SC/ST/SEBC candidates) marks at the qualifying examination, and

 

obtained the qualifying marks in GATE in the relevant discipline for engineering and GPAT for pharmacy; and

 

minimum two years full time working experience in the academic, industrial or research organisation in the relevant discipline in which the candidate is seeking admission after passing qualifying examination as on 1st July, of the year in which application for admission is made.

 

Notwithstanding anything contained in of sub-rule (1) and sub-rule  (2), if seats remain vacant after granting admission to the GATE/GPAT qualified candidates, such vacant seats shall be filled in from among the candidates including sponsored candidates who have

 

passed the qualifying examination in the relevant discipline, as specified in column 4 of Appendix I with 50% (45% of SC/ST/SEBC candidates) marks at the qualifying examination, and

 

appeared at Common Entrance Test (CET) in the current academic year for the relevant discipline.

 

A sponsored candidate shall have minimum experience as specified in clause (c) of sub-rule (2).

 

Notwithstanding anything contained in these rules, admission in the Post-Graduate Courses in

 

Dhirubai Ambani Institute of Information and Communication Technology, Gandhinagar,

 

Pandit Deendayal Petroleum University, Gandhinagar,

 

Nirma University, Ahmedabad,

 

Centre For Environmental Planning And Technology University, Ahmedabad, and

 

all sanctioned seats including sponsored seats for the Welding Technology Course conducted jointly by the Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda and Larsen and Toubro Ltd., Surat., shall be granted by these institutions/universities on the basis of the merit order obtained in any All India Entrance Examination of Repute.

 

For MCA:

 

For the purpose of admission, a candidate shall have appeared in the Common Management Aptitude Test (CMAT) as prescribed by AICTE, for the corresponding year.

 

A candidate shall have passed the qualifying examination with minimum of 50% marks (45% marks in case of SC/ST/SEBC category candidates) from a University situated in the Gujarat State; or

 

a University situated outside the Gujarat State provided that the  candidate shall have passed the Higher Secondary School Certificate  Examination (Standard XII, 10+2 pattern) or its equivalent examination  from,

 

The Gujarat Board; or

 

The Central Board of Secondary Education:

 

Provided That:

 

The school in which the candidate has studied, shall have been    located in the State of Gujarat; or

 

The school in which the candidate has studied, shall have been located in the Union Territories of Daman and Diu or Dadra and Nagar Haveli; or

 

The Council of Indian School Certificate Examination, New Delhi:

 

Provided That:

 

The school in which the candidate has studied, shall have been located in the State of Gujarat; or

 

The school in which the candidate has studied, shall have been located 4 in the Union Territories of Daman and Diu or Dadra and Nagar Haveli:

 

Provided that a candidate shall have passed the Higher Secondary   School Examination (Standard XII, 10+2 pattern) or Bachelors’ degree with Mathematics or Business Mathematics or Statistics as one of the subjects.

 

Subject to the provisions of sub-rules (1) and (2), a candidate who has appeared in the final year of Bachelor’s Degree examination shall also be eligible to apply provided that he shall have passed the qualifying examination with 50% marks (45% marks in case of Scheduled Castes or Scheduled Tribes candidates) at the time of admission.

 

Explanation: 50% marks (45% marks in case of SC/ST/SEBC category candidates) shall be computed on the basis of grand total or, cumulative grade point average as shown in the final year mark sheet of the University. In case of grade points, the candidate shall be required to produce equivalence percentage certificate from the University.

 

Facilities:

 

Hostel: College Provides Adequate Facility Of Hostels For Boys And Girls Separately. Admission to the Hostel is made for two academic terms. Due to limited accommodation to the Hostel Preference will be given to the students who have submitted their application in time. And as per Priorities decided by the hostel Admission Committee from time to time.

 

Cafeteria: An Excellent Canteen Serving Not Only Mouth Watering But Also Hygienic Stuff At Subsidized Rates Has Been Set Up To Cater The Needs Of Students And Staff.

 

Library: SCET library is well equipped with books of for all disciplines, back volumes and latest journals. College library functions under the open access system having more than 52530 books, National/ International journals, print Journals, and magazines of good repute. Research journals in electronic as well as printed formats   are being subscribed in SCET library. E-journals of various reputed online scientific databases such as American Chemical Society, ASCE, IEEE, Science-Direct, J Gate, McGraw-Hill and Springer Link are available in the Library.

 

The library has a rich collection of books on Electrical Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Computer Science, Instrumentation and Control Engineering, Civil Engineering, Textile Technology, Architecture, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, Humanities, and Social Sciences. The collection includes reference books, text books, and CDs etc.. All in-house operations in the library are fully computerized using the SOUL software package that also provides web-based access to the online catalogue of Library.

 

SCET Clubs: Sarvajanik College of Engineering and Technology is running various interesting clubs for staff and students to help develop the interest and participation in various activities.

SCET Dance Club (SDC), CET Music Club (SMC), SCET Yoga Club (SYC), SCET Photography Club (SPC)

 

Sports: A sports is all forms of competitive physical activity which, through casual or organized participation, aim to use, maintain or improve physical ability and provide entertainment to participants. Gymkhana department of our college also runs with same zeal and it inculcates the ever challenging enthusiasm within the student to set an benchmark in the different events organized at Inter Collegiate and at Inter-university levels.
