GITA (Gandhi Institute for Technological Advancement) is a well-known name in the field of technical education. Founded in 2004 & situated in the outskirts of Bhubaneswar, the college is a part of the famous Vidya Bharati Educational Trust – founder of the famed GIET, Gunupur. GIET has created a name for itself in the field of technical education in eastern India. Infrastructure :

Library : An impressive collection of over 30,047 books, 70 National & International Journals. We also have subscriptions to e-journals like sciencedirect, astm & delnet. We also have an air-conditioned reading room which is open 12 hours for the students. GITA also has a dedicated lending library with 7000 plus books.

Sports :

• "All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy." At GITA we believe that studies should be sufficiently mixed with sports & other activities. We have a large playground with separate courts for basketball, volleyball, cricket, football etc.
• Students at GITA have always won accolades to the college not just by their academic performance but also with their prowess in the field of sports. In the recent times we have won the prestigious Rajdhani Cup, Silicon Cup etc. The students can also spend their time sweating it in the well-equipped gymnassium under the guidance of a personal trainer.
• Our students and faculties participated in various adventurous sports organised by National Adventurous Foundation (NAF) at Lalitgiri, Jajpur District. Sponsored by Ministry of Sports and Youth, Govt. of India.

The Hobby Club encompasses various activities varying from Photography to Robotics and Music to Literary interests. Each club conducts various events throughout the year like inviting eminent people for lectures and demonstrations. Transportation : A fleet of more than 20 buses to provide convenient and hassle free travel to our students. We keep updating our fleet and ensure its upkeep to make commuting comfortable. They covers all major routes of Bhubaneswar as well as from Cuttack & Khurda.

 Eligibility :

B.Tech : Successful completion of +2 Science with Mathematics, Physics & Chemistry / Biology / Biotechnology / Computer Science with a minimum of 45% (Aggregate) in Physics, Mathematics & Chemistry /Biology /Biotechnology /Computer Science is a must.

M.Tech :  For admission to First Year Master Degree programme in - Engineering / Technology : GATE qualified candidates or pass or appearing B.Tech/B.E examination from a recognized university with CGPA 6.5 (10 point scale) or 60% marks.

MBA : Any graduate a pass or appeared, appearing in OJEE / CMAT / MAT / CAT / XAT are eligible to take admission in two year full time M.B.A. programme with minimum 50% at graduation ( +3) level.

MCA : Eligibility for admission is one has to pass +3 degree / any graduation or equivalent with Mathematics at +2 or +3 level. As per Supreme Court Guidelines admission shall be through entrance test only. For state quota seats one has to appear for the JEE Odisha Entrance.

Admission Procedure:

B.Tech :

• For admission into 1st year B.Tech programme a student has to appear for Joint Entrance Examination (JEE-Main) conducted by CBSE. For details visit www.jeemain.nic.in. As it stands now, Govt. of Odisha is not going to conduct OJEE, hence JEE (Main) entrance is the only roadway to take admission into 1st year B.Tech Programmes offered by us. Exams shall be held online or offline as per the choice of the student.
• JEE (Main) authorities shall publish two merit lists. One all India merit list the other for Odisha state candidates only. 70% of the seats shall be filled up in Govt. of Odisha counseling, taking students from the Odisha merit list. Around 25% of the seats shall be open for all India merit list, where students of Odisha and pan India can compete.

M.Tech : GATE qualified candidates or pass or appearing in MCA examination from a recognized university with CGPA 6.5 or 60% marks only for M. Tech in Computer Science and Computer science & IT branches.

• Preference will be given to candidates having a valid GATE score and
• Non-GATE candidates having a minimum of 60% in aggregate OR CGPA of 6.5/10 at B.Tech./B.E level can also apply.

Non-GATE candidates are required to appear at an On-line Test; GATE candidates are exempted from this test.

Training and Placement Cell :

The Industry Institute Partnership Cell (IIPC) has been set up in GITA ,BBSR with self financing setup on 5th October’2013.The cell aims to strengthen the linkages with the industry and research organizations in and around Odisha. It is headed by Prof. S.N.Mishra and assistance by Prof. K.K.Mishra & Prof Satya Ranjan Nayak for facilitating a very good industry institute interaction

Objective :

• To promote participation of industry personnel in the development of curricula & high quality student projects.
• To provide technical training to lower and middle level industry personnel in the recent advances in design, manufacturing and management disciplines.
• To arrange industry visits and industrial training for the faculty and students of our institution.
• To provide technical consultancy and training to small scale & rural industries.
• To take up joint Research & Development projects with the industries
• To assisted by a dedicated team of staff members and project staff, the centre has to envisaged an action plan to achieve these objectives.
