A premier institute imparting technical education since 1986. The college is situated on Bangalore – Hyderabad National Highway-NH7, 45 kms from Bangalore city about, 20 kms from Kempe Gowda International Airport (Bangalore International Airport) and about 5 kms from Muddenahalli, the birth place of Sir M. Visvesvaraya. The famous hill resort Nandi hill is about 15 kms from the college. The Institute is managed by Sri Adichunchanagiri Shikshana Trust(R.) with the divine blessings of Byravaikya Jagadguru Padmabhushan Sri Sri  Sri Dr. Balagangadharanatha Maha Swamiji’s and spiritual guidance of Jagadguru Sri Sri Sri Nirmalanandanatha  Maha Swamiji. The Trust runs more than 485 Institutions all over the states of Karnataka, Maharashtra, Tamilnadu & Delhi. SJCIT is affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU), Belgaum. The Institution is recognized by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi, Accredited by NBA and ISO 9001:2008 certified. The Institute has a built up area 20,562 sq.m. with one Administrative Block measuring 6,500 sq.m. which houses Office, a Seminar Hall, I year class rooms, laboratories, MCA & MBA departments, Another Block has an area 7,900 sq.m. Separate Mechanical Engineering Block has an area 4,530 sq.m.

Eligibility:

 

For BE: The requirement for admission to the Graduate Programme in any of the disciplines: Pass in 10+2 Or Equivalent with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects, along with one of the following subjects : Chemistry, Bio- Technology, Computer Science, Biology, Electronics with not less than 50% of the aggregate marks in optional subjects with English as one of the Languages (45% in case of SC / ST / Other backward classes specified in the relevant Government order for the purpose of reservation only for Kamataka students) for admission to Engineering & Technology courses or Diploma holders who have secured 45% marks in appropriate branch of Engineering in final year Diploma. Foreign students are also admitted to B.E. courses.

 

For M.Tech:

  • Structural Engg / Infrastructure Engg & Management : Pass with 50% aggregate marks in B.E. (Civil) or Equivalent Degree.
  • Machine Design : Pass with 50% aggregate marks in B.E. (Mechanical/Industrial & Production / Automobile / Manufacturing / Industrial Engg. & Management) Or Equivalent Degree Or AMIE in appropriate Branch.
  • Industrial Automation & Robotics : Pass with 50% aggregate marks in B.E. (Mechanical, Automobile, Industrial & Production / Industrial Engg& Management, Manufacturing Science & Engg, Electrical & Electronics, Manufacturing / Instrumentation Technology, Computer Sceince & Engg Or Equivalent Degree, AMIE in appropriate Branch. GATE: ME, EE, EC, PI, IN, CS
  • Digital Commn. & Networking/Digital Electronics & Communication Systems/Signal Processing : Pass with 50% aggregate marks in B.E. (Electronics & Communication / Telecommunication / Information Technology / Computer Science Engg.) Or Equivalent Degree Or AMIE in appropriate Branch. GATE: CS, EC, IT
  • Computer Science Engineering : Pass with 50% aggregate marks in B.E. (Computer Science Engg. / Information Science .) Or Equivalent Degree Or GATE: CS, IN, IT

For MCA: Bachelor Degree examination with not less than 50% aggregate of all the years of the degree examination with Mathematics / Statistics / Computer Science / Computer Programming / Computer Applications / Business Mathematics / Business Statistics as one of the optional or electives. (45% for SC / ST & Category-I only for Kamataka students) Provided further that in respect of candidate who has studies and passed one of the subject specified in the first proviso in the Pre-university Course with 50% of marks in that subject shall also be considered for admission.

 

For MBA: Bachelor Degree examinations with not less than 50% (45% for SC / ST & Category-I only for Kamataka students) of the marks in the aggregate of all the years of the degree examination

 

Facilities:

 

Library: The SJCIT Library is an Important Learning Resource Center with Open Access system encouraging the user to browse freely in the stock area. The library is housed in a spacious block . As on date the center has 52344(as on date 15-01-2009) volumes of books, Periodicals magazines, over 33 International Journals and 127 National Journals. The library comprises of reference section, Periodical section, stock area, Internet & Digital library, Audio-Visual Facility. Library also has collection of workbooks, newspapers, and question papers of previous years and syllabus of all the branches. The library provides the information and reference in the academic programs also to current technology and innovations in different fields. There are also a vast array of materials that provides insights and information to enhance overall development and personality.

 

Canteen: The most modern institutional canteen set up by SJCIT inside the Campus, which provides a wide range of hygienically prepared nourishing South Indian and North Indian Snacks and Buffet for students, faculty and staff at affordable rates

 

Classrooms: Spacious and well-ventilated classrooms with modern teaching and training aids are created for providing a congenial atmosphere for learning. They are set up with multimedia aids to conduct interactive sessions. Facilities are in place for conducting on-line classes and tests. Parents are going to be networked to the campus for monitoring the academic progress and performance of their wards.

 

Cultural: Students and faculty are also encouraged to form informal teams and groups through formation of Music Club, Literary Club, Academic Society, Arts and Dramatics Society. Multifarious events are organized throughout the year to showcase the talents of individuals, build skills in event management and develop leadership and interpersonal skills.

 

Transport: The institution has its own fleet of 24 luxurious coaches operating to & from Chickballapur, Bangalore, Kolar and Chintamani. The facility is extended to Students and Staff at very nominal rates. Plans are also on the anvil to provide city shuttle services to students and staff who are required to work extended hours at Laboratories, Workshops, Library and Computer Center.
