Moradabad Institute of Technology (MIT) was established in 1996 by Moradabad Educational Trust (MET). Moradabad is known as Brass City of India. The annual exports of brass, aluminium & glassware products from Moradabad amount to about Rs. 3000 crores.  Moradabad is situated on Nothern Railway main rail links (Howarh-Lucknow-Amritsar & Lucknow-Delhi) & 160 km East of Delhi on NH-24 & MIT is 5 km from Moradabad Railway Junction. This Institute was among the 1st four degree engineering colleges established in U.P. under the Self Financing Scheme of Govt. of India.  MIT is one of the leading institute & ranks at a very high position among UPTU engineering institutions. Eligibility:

 

For B.Tech.:

  • Eligibility to Appear in UPSEE - 2017 for Admission in 1st year of B.Tech. Candidate must have clearly passed intermediate examination of U. P. Board or 10+2 level examination or its equivalent from any recognized Board / University. The candidate must have clearly passed with minimum 45% marks for General / OBC & 40% for SC / ST candidates  without grace in required each compulsory subjects & one optional subject taken together.
  • The candidates appearing in the qualifying examination are also eligible to appear in UPSEE - 2017 subject to the condition they must fulfil the eligibility criteria at the time of admission.
  • Compulsory Subjects: Physics & Mathematics
  • Anyone of the Subjects: Chemistry, Bio-Technology, Biology or Technical Vocational Subject.

Seats under Different Scheme:

 

1. Through Utter Pradesh State Entrance Examination of 2017 (UPSEE - 2017)

  • State Govt. has permitted 15% of total sanctioned seats available in Private Institutions to be filled by the NRI candidates under Management quota; & the same shall be filled up in accordance with the procedure prescribed in the Govt. orders. The remaining seats in various courses are filled through UPSEE - 2017 counselling.
  • State Govt. has also permitted 20% of total sanctioned seats available in all affiliated Private Institutions only to be filled by JEE – MAINS 2017 merit out of which 10% seats will be filled through U.P. domicile candidates on U.P. State merit using state reservation policy & the remaining of 10% seats will be filled through All India merit candidates without reservation.
  • Thus, 65% of the seats available in B.Tech - 1st Year will be filled by the UPSEE - 2017 qualified candidates, who have passed the qualifying examination from any institution located in U.P. or whose parents are domicile of U.P subject to the eligibility conditions given in this information brochure. If the candidate has passed qualifying examination from outside of U.P., he / she has to produce domicile certificate of his / her parents (Father or Mother only) before the starting date of counselling.

2. Admission at Institute Level against Management Quota Seats (For NRI Candidates) & Vacant Seats after UPSEE – 2017 Counselling:

  • The 15% seats‡ in private institutions shall be filled by the NRI candidates at institute level under management quota as per eligibility criteria. The vacant seats in NRI / Management quota or Vacant Seats after counselling of UPSEE - 2017 shall be filled strictly in following preference order, within 15 days of the last date of counselling.
  • The qualified candidates of UPSEE-2017, who fulfill the eligibility. Their relative merit will be decided on their rank in UPSEE-2017.
  • The qualified candidates of JEE-MAINS-2017 fulfilling the eligibility. Their relative merit will be decided on their rank in respective entrance examinations.
  • The merit of candidates in qualifying (10+2) examination , A candidate must have passed intermediate examination of U. P. Board or 10+2 level examination or its equivalent from any recognized Board / University; securing minimum 50% (45% for SC / ST) marks in required subject combination (two compulsory & one optional) taken together. The candidate is essentially required to pass without any grace marks (as per respective Board / University) in each subject of the subject group. The relative merit shall be decided based on total marks in subject combination qualifying examination.

For Admission To NRI Quota in BTech-1st Year: NRI candidates who possess minimum requisite qualification may get direct admission on 5% seats of total intake  The University shall fill the seats of NRI quota (5%) seats in the following manner:

  • NRI quota seats shall be filled from NRI's
  • Have passed the qualifying examination with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics from an Institution situated outside India, which is considered equivalent to (10+2) examination by the Association of Indian Universities. OR have passed High School Certificate Education (GCE) examination with Physics, Chemistry & Higher Mathematics (A) from London / Cambridge / Sri Lanka.
  • Have appeared in SAT II examination with Mathematics level II C, Physics & Chemistry. Their relative merit will be decided on their SAT-II score.
  • The vacant seats in NRI quota, if any, shall be filled up by such son / daughter / real brother / real sister of NRI's, who have passed intermediate or (10+2) or equivalent examination; with physics, chemistry & mathematics without grace in each of physics, chemistry & mathematics & securing minimum 50% marks (45% for SC / ST) in physics, chemistry & mathematics taken together, from an institution situated in India.
  • The children of real brother / sisters & son / daughter of NRI may also be considered if the seats remain vacant after admitting the eligible NRI, their son / daughter & real brother / sister. The minimum requisite qualification shall be same.
  • The relative merit of candidates will be decided based on the total marks obtained by them in physics, chemistry & mathematics. Such candidates need not appear in the UPSEE - 2017.
  • All such candidates must submit at the time of counselling an NRI certificate obtained from Indian Diplomatic Mission / Chancellery / High Commission under their seal.
  • The candidate must also submit sufficient documents clarifying without ambiguity their true relationship with the sponsoring NRI to the satisfaction of the University.
  • The candidates will be informed separately about the date of counselling & number of seats under this quota & they are required to be present in person on the day of counselling with original documents / certificates, failing which they will loosen their claim.
  • The latest orders issued by Govt. of U.P. up to the date of NRI counselling shall be applicable for admission in NRI quota.
  • The detailed information will be published through Newspapers & website: www.upsee.nic.in / www.uptu.ac.in in the month of May 2018.

For B.Tech 2nd Year (Lateral Entry):

  • Candidates who have passed 3 years B.Sc. degree & passed XII standard with mathematics’ as one of the subject ; securing minimum 45% marks for General & OBC (40% in case of candidates  longing to SC / ST category) in aggregate, are also eligible for admission to 2nd year in any branch of Engineering / Technology.
  • Such seats are limited to a maximum of 20% in addition to the sanctioned intake in institutions / colleges at 1st year level. However, students belonging to B.Sc. stream shall be considered only after filling the seats in this category with students of Diploma stream.

For M.B.A.:

  • Candidate must have passed Bachelors degree course of minimum 3 years duration from any recognized Indian University; or its equivalent, recognized by A.I.U securing minimum 50% marks for General & OBC (45% marks for SC / ST candidates) in aggregate.
  • Distribution of Seats under different Scheme for 2015-16 Admission

(A). Through Uttar Pradesh State Entrance Examination of 2015 (UPSEE - 2017):

  • State Govt. has permitted 15% of total sanctioned seats available to be filled by NRI Candidates under Management Quota & the same shall be filled in accordance with the procedure prescribed in the Govt. orders. The remaining seats will be filled through UPSEE - 2017 counselling.
  • State Govt. has also prescribed 20% of the total seats available to be filled on the basis of CMAT - 2015 merit (Common Management Admission Test, conducted by AICTE). These seats shall also be filled by UPSEE - 2017 entrance examination.
  • Thus, 65% of the seats available in MBA courses will be filled by the UPSEE - 2017 qualified candidates, who have passed bachelor’s degree course of minimum three years duration from any institution located in U.P. or whose parents are domicile of U.P. subject to eligibility condition given in the information brochure (UPSEE - 2017). If the candidate has passed qualifying examination from outside of U.P., he / she has to produce domicile certificate of his / her parents (Father or Mother only) before the starting date of counselling. 

(B). Direct Admission at Institute level against Management Quota Seats & Vacant Seats after UPSEE - 2017 counselling. Management Quota seats / Vacant seats after counselling of UPSEE shall be filled strictly in following preference order :-

  • The qualified candidates of UPSEE- 2017. Their relative merit will be decided on their rank in UPSEE 2017.
  • The qualified candidates of valid CMAT / CAT / MAT score fulfilling the eligibility. Their relative merit will be decided on their rank in respective entrance examination.
  • By merit of candidates in the qualifying Bachelor’s degree course. Their relative merit shall be decided based on total marks in aggregate.

For M.Tech.: B.Tech / B.E. with at least 60% (55% for SC / ST) marks.

 

Note:-

  • Candidates with above qualifications & with Valid GATE score will be given first preference in admission.
  • Graduates in Engineering / Technology will be given 2nd preference in admission.

Fee Structure:

For Institute fee:

  • B.Tech & M.Tech. in favour of "Moradabad Institute of Technology, Moradabad"
  • MBA:"in favour of "MIT Faculty of Management, Moradabad"
  • Registrations will be done with Rs. 11,000/- (Rupees Eleven thousand only) in DDs of Rs. 10,000/- & Rs. 1,000/-, to be deposited at the time of registration, out of which Rs. 1000/- (Rupees one thousand only) are for registration & processing charge (non refundable).  Remainder Rs. 11,000/- (Rupees Eleven thousand only) are adjusted in the fees, in case of admission or refunded in case admission is not given by the Institute.
  • Hostel Fee: in favour of MET Moradabad
