Eligibility :

B.Tech :

Successful completion of +2 Science with Mathematics, Physics & Chemistry / Biology / Biotechnology / Computer Science with a minimum of 45% (Aggregate) in Physics, Mathematics & Chemistry /Biology /Biotechnology /Computer Science is a must.

M.Tech :

For admission to First Year Master Degree programme - Engineering / Technology : GATE qualified candidates or pass or appearing B.Tech/B.E examination from a recognized university with CGPA 6.5 (10 point scale) or 60% marks.

Admission Procedure:

B.Tech :

• For admission into 1st year B.Tech programme a student has to appear for Joint Entrance Examination (JEE-Main) conducted by CBSE. For details visit www.jeemain.nic.in. As it stands now, Govt. of Odisha is not going to conduct OJEE, hence JEE (Main) entrance is the only roadway to take admission into 1st year B.Tech Programmes offered by us. Exams shall be held online or offline as per the choice of the student.
• JEE (Main) authorities shall publish two merit lists. One all India merit list the other for Odisha state candidates only. 70% of the seats shall be filled up in Govt. of Odisha counseling, taking students from the Odisha merit list. Around 25% of the seats shall be open for all India merit list, where students of Odisha and pan India can compete.

M.Tech : GATE qualified candidates or pass or appearing in MCA examination from a recognized university with CGPA 6.5 or 60% marks only for M. Tech in Computer Science and Computer science & IT branches.

• Preference will be given to candidates having a valid GATE score and
• Non-GATE candidates having a minimum of 60% in aggregate OR CGPA of 6.5/10 at B.Tech./B.E level can also apply.

Non-GATE candidates are required to appear at an On-line Test; GATE candidates are exempted from this test.

Hostel : A Home Away from Home! "Mid pleasures and palaces though we may room, be it ever so humble, there's no place like home."But still we at Nalanda define our Dwelling place in the institute as A Home Away from Home. There are three Boys Hostels in the campus with a total capacity of more than 400 students and three Girls Hostels in the city. Every Hostel has been provided with modern facilities, meeting the requirements of students.

Transport facilities :

• Nalanda has an excellent transport facility for the faculty, staff & students with flexible and competitive fare. Over six hundred students in the college are availing bus facility from the Institute. We have trained bus drivers who are efficient in their work. Above all this student protection is our main motto that we have maintained till now.
• Buses are well equipped with Advance facilities for the convenience of the students and staff. The transport facility remains available for any kind of emergency round-the-clock. Management is about to purchase more buses as per the demand so that not a single student has to face problem while travelling. The Institute buses are operated in many different- routes across Bhubaneswar and Cuttack.

Library :

• The institute has a dedicated, large, spacious & well furnished library for its students. Well equipped professional facilities which include E-Library with a collection of more than 30,000 books, thousands of journals (National and International), weekly & monthly megazines, daily newspapers in English, Oriya and Hindi are available for both students and staffs.
• The library at Nalanda emanates the ethos of the Engineering College. It is a major attraction for students as not only does it offer a variety of academic information, it also stimulates the intellectual pursuit of students in a lovely ambience.
• Library is open from morning till late evening and even till mid-night during examinations. Apart from books on technical subjects related to discipline and courses, it houses books of general interest, magazines and daily newspapers. Well equipped with more than 50 journals in print, both national and international, the library supports the research needs across varied disciplines.
• Library facilitates purchase of text-books for students on the basis of individual requests received at the time of registration. A library is a necessity in one’s academic life, and the library at Nalanda gives a fabulous enabling environment to research and is indeed the ‘room for the birth of ideas’.

Training and Placement Cell :

The Training & Placement Office at Nalanda Institute of Technology handles all aspects of campus placements for graduating students. The cell is responsible for mediating between the company and the students.Arrangements for every stage of the recruitment process are made by officials at the office.The Faculty In-Charge for Placements in consultation with the student representatives oversee all placement related activities at the institute. The Placement Cell coordinates with recruiting companies and handles the entire placement process. The scheduling process is handled accommodating both the needs of the students and the department to ensure that the recruitment process is carried out in the most comfortable and satisfying manner possible.
