EDUCATION ACTIVITY
SKMA implements educational activity in 2 groups of specialties at undergraduate and postgraduate levels: public health and social welfare (medicine), engineering science and technologies. Contingent of learners is annually increasing that is due to growing demand in medical and pharmaceutical personnel in the Southern region. The composition of academy includes medical and pharmaceutical faculties, postgraduate education department, department of internship and graduates employment, faculty of specialists training with technical and professional education, faculty of continuous professional development. Highly qualified specialists such as doctors PhD in medical and pharmaceutical sciences, doctors of highest category, honored physicians of Kazakhstan, Academicians of public and national academies of sciences, the owners of the sign "Excellence in public health" work at the departments. Within the realization of multilingualism policy the training is conducted on 3 languages. Staff training is implemented in the close interaction with employers; dual training model is realized. In educational process module study programes are introduced, active training methods, simulation technologies and standardized patients are widely used in clinical training. An official website of SKMA (www.ukma.kz) comprises information about university activity. Educational portal available for any student includes training-methodical base of academy, e-textbooks, training workshops and exams. Created in academy information network provides technically full functioning of information-educational environment of academy which keeps high degree of information technologies implementation into educational process. By international exchange academy students are trained in National pharmaceutical university (Kharkiv city, Ukraine), I.M.Sechenov First Moscow state medical university (Moscow city, Russia), Bashkir state medical university (Ufa, Russia), Tyumen state medical academy (Tyumen, Russia), St.Petersburg chemical-pharmaceutical academy (St. Petersburg, Russia), University of veterinary and pharmaceutical sciences (Brno, Czech Republic).
RESEARCH WORK
SKMA is one of the largest regional scientific centers of Kazakhstan. According to the rating results The Ministry of Healthcare of the Republic of Kazakhstan, for the last 5 years scientific activity of SKMA has raised from 29th place to 3rd place, in students' scientific activity Academy takes 1st place among medical universities of Kazakhstan. Academy was the first among medical universities of Kazakhstan that was accredited as the subject of scientific and scientific-technical activity. Scientifictechnical projects where actively participate students and master students are implemented in SKMA. Research outcomes are published in different domestic and foreign scientific journals with regional and global recognition. Transfer of new medical and pharmaceutical technologies into practice in the kind of patents, innovation patents, technological regulations, rationalization proposals is implemented. In SKMA annually there are conducted international, including jointly with the Fund of the First President of RK- Leader of Nation.
