Guru Nanak Dev University CET Entrance Exam (GNDU CET)

About GNDU CET:

 

Guru Nanak Dev University conducts CET LAW/LLB/LLM Entrance Exam in order to admit aspirants, who wish to pursue their career in law stream. It is a state -level entrance test mandatory for students to seek admission in law program offered by the colleges of Punjab that are affiliated to Guru Nanak Dev University, Punjab University and Punjabi University, at Undergraduate and Postgraduate levels. Guru Nanak Dev University came into existence in 1969 and is located in Amritsar, Punjab. Many institutions are affiliated to it, to cater to the educational needs of the society. After the entrance test counseling will be held for admission.

 

Examination Pattern:

 

There will be different set of examination for different programs. CET LAW/ LLB/ LLM Entrance Exam test paper consists of 300 objective questions with multiple options. The test paper is divided into four parts.

  • Part I - comprises of 50 questions from Mental Ability.
  • Part II- comprises of 100 questions from General Knowledge and Current Affairs.
  • Part III- comprises of 100 questions from Aptitude for Law.
  • Part IV- comprises of 50 questions from General English.

Duration: of CET LAW/LLB/LLM Entrance Exam is three hours. Each correct answer will fetch 4 marks to the candidate.


Candidates who quality the entrance test are eligible to get admission in the following courses:

 

UNDER GRADUATE PROGRAMMES

  • B.A., L.L.B. (Hons.) (5 years)
  • B.A., L.L.B. (5 years)

 

POST GRADUATE PROGRAMMES

  • L.L.B. (3 years)
  • L.L.M.

 

Eligibility:


BA.LLB (Hons) / BA.LLB (5 years): The University also offers a five year B.A L.LB (Hons) program for which the eligibility for general candidates is 50% marks in higher secondary school exams from the School Education Board Punjab or any other board recognized by the university. The candidates from scheduled tribes and scheduled castes only need 45% marks to apply for admission.

 

The students who have cleared the 10+2 exam from the Education School Board of Punjab or any other board which is recognized by the University. The least marks required by the University for B.A L.LB program are 45%. The age of the candidates should not be more than 20 years. The least marks for candidates from scheduled tribes and scheduled castes and other backward tribes is 40%.

 

LLB/LLM: The universities also offer a three year L.LB program and an L.LM program. The candidates interested in doing these courses must possess an L.LB degree from the Guru Nanak Dev University or the Punjabi University or the Punjab University. Candidates possessing other degrees considered equivalent to the law degree from the above mentioned universities can also apply. The least marks for these programs are 45%. The upper age limit fixed for the candidates is 30 years. The candidates from scheduled tribes and scheduled castes have a relaxation of 5% in marks and the upper age for these candidates is 35 years.


Syllabus:


GNDU CET LAW/LLB/LLM Entrance Exam has no particular set of syllabus. Questions asked for Three years LLB Law program are of graduation level, while questions asked for Five year BA.LLB (Hons) program and Five Year BA.LLB program are of 10+2 level.
