Dibrugarh University Conducts Combined Entrance Examination (Assam PMT 2018)

About Us:

 

Dibrugarh University conducts Combined Entrance Examination CEE 2018 for admission to MBBS / BDS, BE / B.Tech Courses in the colleges of the State of Assam shall be conducted by the Dibrugarh University. The Dibrugarh University CEE 2018 will be conducted as per the current NCERT syllabus adopted by the Assam Higher Secondary Education Council.

 

Candidates should note the following:

  1. Candidates applying for MBBS /BDS Courses must appear in Physics, Chemistry and Biology only
  2. Candidates applying for Engineering Degree Courses must appear in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics only
  3. Candidates appearing in MBBS /BDS and Engineering Degree Courses must appear in Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Mathematics

Eligibility:

 

Conditions for admission and eligibility for appearing in the Combined Entrance Examination

 

(1) Subject to the provisions of Rule 5 of Admission Rule, 2007 all candidates seeking admission into the MBBS course in any of the medical colleges of Assam and BDS course in the Regional Dental College, Guwahati shall have to appear in the Combined Entrance Exam

 

(2) No candidate shall be eligible for appearing in the Combined Entrance Exam and admission into any of the courses unless he/she:

(a) is a citizen of India;

(b) is a permanent resident of Assam;

Provided that nothing contained in this clause shall be applicable to the sons and daughters of the employees of the Govt. of Assam.

(c) unless he/she has completed minimum of 4 years schooling either at

(i) HSLC or equivalent stage or

(ii) HSLC and HSSLC or equivalent stages combined from the recognized schools conducting regular classes situated within the State of Assam

 

Provided if the candidate has not done 4 years of schooling in the State then their Father or Mother must have completed his/her schooling in the State of Assam for a minimum period 4 years in the School level inclusive of Primary/ME/HSLC and they are to furnish the required certificate, in order for their son/daughter to be eligible to appear in the Combined Entrance Exam for any of the courses. Provided further that nothing contained in the clause shall be applicable to the sons and daughters of the officers of All India Services allotted to Assam

 

(3) Those candidates who have passed HSLC/HSSLC or equivalent examination from Assam shall attach mark sheets and pass certificates with Form B

 

(4) The candidates must pass the qualifying exam without any grace marks in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English individually in the same sitting and must have obtained a minimum of 60% marks taken together in Physics, Chemistry and Biology at the qualifying exam in case of candidates belonging to the general category. In respect of candidates belonging to SC/STOBC/More Other Backward Classes, the marks obtained in Physics, Chemistry and Biology taken together in the qualifying examination shall be 50% The candidate belonging to General Category has to secure at least 50% Marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology taken together in CEE and the candidate belonging to SC/ST/OBC/MOBC category have to obtain at least 40% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology taken together in the Combined Entrance Exam.

 

(5) Candidate must be found physically fit by the Medical Examination Board at the time of admission if selected

 

(6) Candidate’s age should not be below 17 years and above 24 years of age on the 31st day of December of the year in which the admission is sought for: Provided that the maximum age limit is relaxable by 3 years in case of candidates belonging to the SC/ST/OBC & MOBC

 

Exemption from Combined Entrance Examination: The following categories of candidates are exempted from appearing in the entrance test:

 

(a) candidates nominated against 15% All India Quota seats/Central pool/N.E. States quota and Candidate nominated by Govt. of Bhutan;

 

(b) candidates ranked within the first ten positions in the HSSLC (Science) examination conducted by the Assam Higher Secondary Education Council, provided they get not less than 60% marks in aggregate. Such candidates must apply for direct admission to the Director of Medical Education, Assam. But they shall have to appear before the Selection Board for counseling:

 

Provided that vacant seat under the aforesaid Rule (a) above shall be filled up from amongst the candidates in the waiting list from General/SC/ST/OBC/MOBC categories on the basis of percentage of reservation on total vacant seats available on the particular date of allotment of the seats from the waiting list

 

Dibrugarh University CEE 2018 Exam Pattern

  • Each paper shall be of 2 (two) hours duration and shall contain 100 multiple choice questions each carrying one mark
  • Total marks for each paper shall be 100
  • There shall be no negative marking for wrong answers
  • There shall be no marks in case the candidates select more than one option in the answer sheet. Option once marked cannot be changed and erase red
