Common Entrance Test (CET), Indian Maritime University

About CET:

 

The School of Maritime Management, Indian Maritime University invites applications for admission to its MBA Programmes. The common entrance test (CET) is a prerequisite for a candidate to get admitted for the MBA programmes mentioned below. The School, apart from its exclusive identity as a centre of specialist education, also has institutional collaboration with premier maritime institutions around the world, viz, Technical University, Delft, Netherlands; STC-NMU, Netherlands; Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers, UK. The School also earns appreciation for placing all the students of 2009-11 batch successfully. The birth of Indian Maritime University is a long cherished dream of the maritime community of India and on 14th November 2008, this dream took the wings of reality and proudly started its journey towards the epitome of maritime education by passing the act called INDIAN MARITIME UNIVERSITY ACT in the parliament.


The maritime sector is continuously establishing its feet in the Indian economy and gradually its importance in the world trade has become vital. In order to match up with the world demand the maritime fraternity has been blessed with a university that has over 500 qualified human resources with custom-made skills for the maritime and shipping sector. Situated on a sprawling seaside venue, the university has a huge campus with all modern amenities that contributes towards the development of the young minds by enhancing their creativity. Headquarter is located in Chennai and other campuses are located in Cochin, Vishakhapatnam, Kolkata, Mumbai and Kandla.

 

Pattern of CET:

 

The question paper has 6 components, namely:

  • Economics
  • Accountancy
  • General Knowledge
  • General Aptitude
  • General Mathematics
  • General English

Note: Each component will be given equal weightage. Duration of exam is of 180 min (3 hrs).

IMU-CET Eligibility:

The candidate must hold a Bachelor’s Degree, with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA, {45% in case candidates belonging to SC/ST and Differently Abled (DA) categories}, awarded by any of the Universities incorporated by an Act of the Central or State Legislature in India. Candidates appearing for the final year of the bachelor’s degree and those who are awaiting for results can also apply.

 

Venue: Chennai, Cochin, Kolkata, Mumbai, New Delhi, Vishakhapatnam.
