Established in 1980, Rural Engineering College(REC) has achieved an enviable status due to a strong emphasis on academic and technical excellence and has been in the forefront of imparting engineering education for over 35 years.Being the first engineering college in the North Karnataka region, it has contributed largely to the development and prosperity of the region. It currently offers 7 Under Graduate and 1 Post Graduate Courses affiliated to Visveshwaraiah Technological University, Belgaum, and is recognised by AICTE, New Delhi. It is also a Visveshwaraiah Technological University recognized Research Center in 6 disciplines with over 50 researchers pursuing PhD in Chemical Engineering disciplines.

Eligibility:

For BE:

• Eligibility criterion as per the extract of GO No. ED10TEC2006 for admission to Engineering Under Graduate Course.
• Applicant should be a citizen of India.
• Candidates desires to claim the seats under KEA Merit Quota Should have appeared for the KEA Tests conducted by the KEA Cell.
• Should have passed PUC-2 or equivalent examination securing not less than 45% aggregate of Physics & Mathematics as compulsory subjects and one of the following optional subjects- Chemistry, Biotechnology, Biology ,Computer Science & Electronics along with English as one of Language.
• Minimum marks for the purpose of eligibility in case of (SC/ST,CAT-1,IIA,IIB,IIIA &IIIB) Candidates is 40% aggregate in Physics & Mathematics as compulsory subjects with one of the following optional subjects Such as -Chemistry, Biotechnology, Biology ,Computer Science & Electronics along with English as  one of Language.

Facilities:

IT Facilities: The college boasts with dedicated Computer Labs with about 450 desktop computers and many servers, in addition to the Computerized College office and library, the entire college is a WI-FI zone, allowing anyone to connect to internet anywhere inside the college. The Wi-Fi network is a secured network, and the college assigns all the students and faculty alike with log-in-details to access their account. These log-in details are remain valid for the entire duration of the student's stay in the college. The facility is available on all working days from  24/7 days

Personal Computers: The College requires all computers connected to the network to be secure and actively supported by their software suppliers. We will provide assistance with anti-virus software and operating system patches. However, computers are required to have a reasonably up-to-date operating system before we will allow them on the network: PCs - Windows Vista or later Linux - judged on a case by case basis

Transportation Facilities: Safety of our students is our prime concern. Thus, our transport facility is fully equipped to provide the safest & the most convenient transport solution. The college provides excellent transportation facilities with a fleet of buses separately for students and staff. Transportation focuses on accessibility rather than the mobility and Hi-Tech Group provides a wide range of transportation facility. We covered the entire route through our bus system. The college is situated near the NH63 through which students get much more facilities from the college. These buses bring the students and staff to the campus in the morning before commencement of the class work and return back after the completion of the classwork. The students have to commute from different areas of the city to college for which the College is providing deluxe buses from different important points of the city covering various routes. In addition to it, the College has planned to enhance this facility from the next session as per the requirements of the students. Apart from providing transportation facility to students and staff, the College also provides this facility for industrial visits and excursion trips.

Library: Our library is organized for use and maintained by  an institution,student can have an access to all the books, who require professional assistance with their research. In addition to providing materials, library also provide the services of librarians who are experts at finding and organizing information and at interpreting information needs. Libraries often provide quiet areas for studying, and they also often offer common areas to facilitate group study and collaboration. Library often provide public facilities for access to their electronic resources Such as (Vtu Consortium,E-vidya,E-Journals & E-Books).

Placement:

Students of computer science and engineering are placed in android based sofware company. Our 2 students got placed in one of the IT company NTT Data Last year.

• Various Training Nad placement programs are being conducted by the Placement Cell.
• Softskills training are being provided since it plays a vital role in getting placement.
• Technical training is provided for all of the students to get trained with technical skills.

We are Signed many Mous between the industries like Bored Bees technology. To enhance our students for best of the technical skills which is provided by the bored bees software. Many Industries Employees been made to cisit in tthe campus to aware the students about companies and to get to know the latest in industry .
