The premier society under the name "Bhai Kanhaiya Sewa Society (Regd.), Goniana", is a purely welfare & charitable society dedicated towards selfless service of humanity. This society is running around 35 school, colleges, place of Worship, Charitable Hospitals, Dispensaries etc, Since last 27 year. Keeping in view, ever-growing demand of quality Engineers, "Radiant Institute of Engineering & Technology, Abohar has been established by the society & is dedicated to Brahm Giyani Late Mahant Tirath Singh ji, "Sewa panthi"- Philanthropist, Educationalist & Crusader of Social transformation. The aim of this Sewa Panthi (society for humanitarian service to mankind without any discrimination) was to assist wounded soldiers in the battlefield and to provide food, clothing and shelter to the needy, regardless of religion, caste, race, creed, national origin, sex or status. The word 'Seva' means service and the word 'Panth' means a path. This was the first organized mobile corps of good Samaritans in the entire world. The most amazing part is that unlike the Red Cross, founded 160 years later, there were no salaries provided to the people rendering the selfless service. Within months it became a national movement providing selfless service and humanitarian aid to people without discrimination and by the 1940s it had over 150 Seva Centres or Dharamsalas serving thousands of people in need not only in battlefields but also during peace time. These Seva Centres provide free food, clothing, free medical care and lodging for the needy and the elderly, all year and blankets in the winter. Each of these centres has a religious congregational hall open from 3:00 am in the morning till 10:00 pm at night, a langar hall (Sikh refectory), a charitable hospital providing medical care, including free weekly dental clinics and eye care camps, free knitting and sewing classes for destitute women and a school for poor and needy children.

Eligibility:

For B. Tech: JEE Rank 10+2 Non-Medical/ Diploma/ B.Sc.as applicable.

For B. Sc (Agriculture): 10+2 with Science Stream.

For B. Com (Professional): 10+2 with Commerce Stream.

For M. Sc: Graduation in Applicable Stream.

For Diploma: 10th (matriculation) from a recognized Board.

Training & Placement:

Every technology based course/ institute, remains handicapped in absence of a vibrant and realistic, Training & placement cell. Realizing ,this, vital aspect at RIET Training &placement cell is established from day one Based upon, the analytical study of Research &Development cell strong institute-industry interface ,would be ensured and training for students would be arranged in such fields placement's in, the students ,will use the platform of their training towards final placement's in that very company Moreover, ample analytical study would carried out, to prepare the students, in respect of personality development programmes, which will open various frontiers for the placements. On the same students would be encouraged to compete for other allied fields such as IAS, IPS state Administrative services etc. Thrust would be laid to transform our students as employers entrepreneurs, rather than employees, by helping them to go for their patents based upon research & finally manufacturing/providing services. We even, aspire to open a multifarious store, which would deal in trading of products, which are patents of our students/staff &the net profit would be shared accordingly .These efforts would definitely lead to more than 100%placements.

Events Conducted by Training & Placement Cell during the Academic Session are listed below:

• Placement Drive by SciTech Pvt Ltd., Mohali for final year students of CSE via video conferencing was conducted on 6th Sep'2013 and one student got selected during this placement drive.
• Expert Lecture by Mr Simardeep Singh an alumni of IIM, Ahmadabad on the topic "How to prepare for Aptitude test".
• was conducted on 10th Sep'2013.
• A Scholarship Test was conducted by My Carrer, Bathinda for Pre Final Year Students and twenty Two Students were shortlisted.
• An Expert Lecture on "Road Map of Mobile Technologies to 4G, LTE/LTE Advance" by Inception, Delhi was organized for the students of ECE.
• A Scholarship Test was conducted by Think next Technologies Private Limited, Mohali for Final Year Students of ECE & CSE.
• One day Workshop on Civil - CAD Technologies was conducted by GNA, Phagwara and RV Infrastructure Pvt Ltd. for the students of Civil Engineering.
• Placement Drive by Unit Nexus IT Pvt. Ltd., Zirakpur for the students of CSE & ECE was conducted on 29th Oct'2013 and five students got selected.
