Pt. B.D.Sharma, PGIMS, Rohtak is situated at a distance of about 240 km from Chandigarh and about 70 km from Delhi on Delhi-Hissar-Sirsa-Fazilka National Highway (NH-10). It is the  only major Institution for Medical Education and Research and a tertiary care centre for provision of specialized health care services not only to the people of the State of Haryana, but also to those from  Punjab, Rajasthan, Delhi and western U.P.  The Institute was started under the name of Medical College, Rohtak in the year 1960.  For the first three years, the students were admitted to Medical College, Patiala which acted as a host Institution.  In 1963, the students were shifted to Rohtak.  In the subsequent years, multifaceted expansion measures have transformed the Institute into a fully developed center of Medical Education and research in all the major disciplines of Medicine.  In the year 1994, Medical College, Rohtak was renamed as Pt. B.D.Sharma, Medical College, Rohtak and subsequently it was upgraded to a Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences in the year 1995.  Today Pt. B.D.Sharma, PGIMS, Rohtak is a famous institution not only for medical education but also for the health care facilities both at the National as well as International level.

Eligibility :

MBBS/BDS :

• The candidate must have passed 12th Class Examination (10+2) of Board of School Education, Haryana or an examination recognized as equivalent thereto with at least 50%  marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology taken together and must have also passed the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English individually ( 40% marks in case of SC/ BC and SBC) and (45% marks in case of Physically Handicapped as per MCI, New Delhi notification dated 25/3/09).
• Must have passed AIPMT 2016 and have MERIT SCORE CARD for Haryana State as a result of the All India Pre-Medical/Pre-Dental Entrance Test – 2015 by securing not less than 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry, Biology taken together in the competitive examination (40% marks in case of SC/BC & SBC instead of 50% for General Candidates). Further for persons with locomotory disability of lower limbs, the minimum of 45% for Gen-PH and 40% for SC-PH/BC-PH & SBC-PH are required.
• No candidate who has failed to obtain the minimum eligibility marks as above shall be eligible for admission to MBBS/BDS courses.

Admission procedure :

• MBBS/BDS : The admission is based on the merit list of a Competitive Entrance Examination conducted by the University/NEET (UG).
• B.Sc. Nursing : Selection of candidates is done on the basis of merit as determined by a Competitive Entrance Test conducted by University.
• B. Pharmacy : The admission is based on the merit list of a Competitive Entrance Examination conducted by the University
• B.Sc. MLT/B.Sc. OT/BPO/BPT/B.Sc. Optometry/B.Sc. in Radiography  Technology : The admission is based on the merit list of a Competitive Entrance Examination conducted by the University
• M.Pharmacy : The admission is based on the merit list of  Entrance test GPAT conducted by AICTE.
• M.Ch. /DM : Selection of candidates is done on the basis of merit as determined by a Competitive Entrance Test conducted by University.
• MDS/MD/MS /PG Diploma : Selection of candidates is done on the basis of merit as determined by a Competitive Entrance Test conducted by University/NEET (PG).
• M. Phil : Selection of candidates is done on the basis of merit as determined by a Competitive Entrance Test conducted by University.
• M.Sc. Nursing : Selection of candidates is done on the basis of merit as determined by a Competitive Entrance Test conducted by University.
