Northern India Textile Research Association (NITRA)   is set-up jointly by Govt. of India and textile industry in 1974 on a 50 acre land at Ghaziabad near national capital New Delhi. It is registered under Societies Registration Act, 1860 (Xxl of 1860). NITRA is the only ISO 9001:2000 accredited premier textile research association in the country. NITRA is recognized by the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research, Govt. of India. Further, NITRA is a Centre of Excellence, duly recognized by Central Govt. and State Govt. of U.P., to conduct research and training activities for the complete textile supply chain and is given funds of Rs. 43 crore to strengthen infrastructure facilities. NITRA Technical Campus (NTC) is the academic arm of NITRA set up exclusively to offer AICTE approved B. Tech and PGDM programs in Engineering and Management. The institute spreads over a huge area of 1, 68,000 sq ft having buildings with latest infrastructural facilities and hostel blocks.

NITRA, one of the four textile research associations located in different parts of the country was established in the year 1975 with the objective to carry out scientific research in the field of textile as well as to promote and foster scientific research studies for the extension of knowledge related to or connected with textile industry. NITRA is linked to the Ministry of Textile and recognized by the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research for providing services to centralized as well as decentralized sector.

B.Tech:

• Admissions in all courses will be through UPSEE.
• State Govt. has also permitted 20% of total sanctioned seats available in all affiliated Private Institutions to be filled by AIEEE (All India Engineering Entrance Examination) merit out of which 10% seats will be filled through U.P. domicile candidates on U.P. State merit using state reservation policy, and the remaining of 10% seats will be filled through All India merit candidates without reservation.
• Thus, 80% of the seats available in B.Tech. Will be filled by the UPSEE qualified candidates, who have passed the qualifying examination from any institution located in U.P. or whose parents are domicile of U.P subject to the eligibility conditions given in this information brochure. If the candidate has passed qualifying examination from outside of U.P., he/she has to produce domicile certificate of his/her parents (Father OR Mother only) before the starting date of counselling.
• Eligibility to appear in UPSEE for admission to first year of B.Tech. Courses: For admission to first year of B. Tech., candidate must have clearly passed without grace, intermediate examination of U. P. Board or 10+2 level examination or its equivalent from any recognized Board / University; securing minimum 45% marks (40% marks for SC/ST Category candidates) without grace in required subject combination of two compulsory subjects and one optional subject taken together as given in UPSEE Information Broucher .
  

• Eligibility to appear in UPSEE for admission to second year (lateral entry) of B.Tech Course (Textile Technology Only): Candidates who have passed three years’ Engg. Diploma from an Institution located in U.P. with minimum 45% marks (40% for SC/ST) OR ‘whose parents (Father or mother) are domicile of Uttar Pradesh’ and he/she has passed three years Engg. Diploma with minimum 45% marks (40% for SC/ST) recognized by the Board of Technical Education, U.P., in any branch of Engineering (except Agriculture Engg., Pharmacy and Architecture), are eligible for admission to Second year in any branch of Engineering / Technology. Candidates who have passed ‘three years B.Sc. degree and passed XII standard with mathematics as one of the subject from any recognized University; securing minimum 45% marks (40% for SC/ST) in aggregate, are also eligible for admission to second year in any branch of Engineering/ Technology.

PGDM:

• Graduation in any discipline from a UGC recognized university with minimum 50% marks with a valid MAT / CAT / CMAT / XAT / ATMA / JMET score. Candidates who are appearing for the final year degree examination can also apply.
• Admission to the PGDM programme is based on the candidates' performance in Graduation, MAT / CAT / CMAT / XAT / ATMA / JMET score, Group Discussion, and Personal Interview.
