National Institute of Technology, Manipur, a centrally funded institution is set up to impart quality technical education to various levels of higher learning. It is one of the ten newly set up NIT’s by the Ministry of Human Resource Development. It started its first session on 1st August, 2010.

B.Tech : Through JEE Main 2018

Ph.D : The candidates for Ph.D. Programme may be offered admission, based on certain minimum academic requirements to be satisfied by the candidates as given below:

Engineering (Electrical & Mechanical): Master Degree in Engineering/Technology or equivalent in an appropriate area with a minimum CPI equivalent to 60% of marks as per conversion formula prescribed by the University/Institute.

OR

Bachelor Degree in Engineering/Technology with an excellent academic record and with a CPI equivalent to 70% of marks as per conversion formula prescribed by the University/Institute. Seat – 1 Full Time Electrical, 2 Full time in Mechanical.Those Candidates who qualify GATE will be given preference.

Sciences (Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics): Master Degree in Science in an appropriatearea with a minimum CPI equivalent to 60% of marks as per conversion formula prescribed bythe University/Institute with valid GATE score or NET qualified

Selection procedure : The admission to Ph.D. Programme will be on the basis of weightage as given below:

Overall academic performance (to be fixed by the PhD Admission Committee): 70%

Interview conducted by the Department : 30%
