Apart from polytechnics and engineering colleges, other market segments like professional institutions, industry, public service organizations, vocational education and community at large, needs bigger support now for human resources development. The NITTTR, Bhopal has, in the past, demonstrated its potential for catering to the wide ranging needs through innovations in Technical Education System as well as to the job market needs of the developing countries also. The institute, with its enhanced mandate, has now become a major resource institution and a centre of excellence for the overall growth and expansion of technical education system of the country and has larger responsibility to contribute to a wide ranging diverse labor market. The Institute holds expertise through continuous R&D in the areas of HRD, curriculum development, design & development of learning resources, educational management, policy formulation, continuing education, student assessment, multi-media development, community networking, industrial liaison and technical education research.

 

NITTTR, Bhopal has an excellent track record of introducing several new systems in the technical education and has successfully implemented several time-bound and professionally challenging projects for varied clientele. In nineties, the Institute has successfully served the client states in implementing the highly acclaimed and successful World Bank Assisted Projects viz. Tech. Ed. I & II on Strengthening the Technician Education System. The third phase of this project, Tech. Ed. III is being implemented now in the North-Eastern states in which the Institute is providing need-based customized support as an Academic Consultant to the states of Arunachal Pradesh and Nagaland. Based on the recommendations of the different Review Committees appointed by the MHRD, Government of India, the Institute has been up-graded and renamed as the “National Institute of Technical Teachers’ Training and Research (NITTTR)”, Bhopal. This has brought about substantial changes in the mandate of the institute enabling it to cross the regional boundaries and function as a resource institution at National and International levels for entire gamut of Technical Education Sector.

 

Over the years, the nature of activities of the NITTTR Bhopal have expanded far beyond the “teacher development” concept and undergone a major role-shift to cater to the changing labor market vis-à-vis the changing needs of Technical Education System. As NITTTR, Bhopal the institution has geared itself with the updated resources and infrastructure to support the overgrowing demand of bringing quality in technical education through strategic support and networking with the other centers of excellence, which has also been emphasized by MHRD and AICTE in a workshop conducted at NITTTR, Bhopal. There has been a substantial change in the mandate enabling the institute to cross the regional boundaries and function as a resource institution at National and International levels for entire gamut of technical education sector.

Eligibility

 

For M.Tech:

  • A candidate seeking admission to M.E./M.Tech., first semester  must have passed B.E. / B.Tech. Or equivalent examination approved by the AICTE in appropriate branch with at least 55% marks in the aggregate or equivalent CGPA {Ordinance 8(A) of RGPV, Bhopal}. Entry level qualifications for respective M.E./M.Tech., Programmes as given below in tabular form (S.No.2.1) as approved by the AICTE.
  • The candidate belonging to SC/ST category will get a relaxation in the qualifying marks as per RGPV Bhopal norms.

Conversion of ST/SC/OBC categories will as per GOI rules: Candidates of the qualifying examination can also apply on provisional basis. But at the time of admission, such candidates shall have to produce the original certificate of having passed/ mark sheet of the final year of the degree examination provided that he/she fulfills the eligibility criteria. Failing to do so, the admission will be cancelled.

 

For MBA:

  • The candidate  seeking admission must hold a  bachelor’s degree in any discipline obtained through the 10+2+3 system or an equivalent qualification with at least 50% marks (Relaxation for SC/ST candidates as per Ordinance of BU, Bhopal) or equivalent CGPA of any of the Universities incorporated by an act of the central or state legislature in India or other educational institutions established an act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as a University under section 3 & UGC Act 1956, or possess an equivalent qualification recognized by the Ministry of HRD),Government of India.
  • The basis of computing the percentage obtained by the candidate in the bachelor’s degree would be based on the practice followed by the university/ institution from where the candidate has obtained the degree.
  •  In case of CGPA instead of marks, the equivalence would be based on the equivalence certified by the university / institution from where they have obtained bachelor’s degree. In case of unavailability of such system, it will be established by the NITTTR by dividing obtained CGPA with the maximum Possible CGPA and multiplying the resultant with 100.
  • Candidates appearing for the final bachelor’s degree / equivalent qualification examination can also apply for provisional admission if they produce a certificate of obtaining minimum eligibility marks based on the aggregate of available grades/marks from the Principal/Registrar/head of institution of their college/institute stating that they have completed all the requirements (the results may, however, be awaited) for obtaining the bachelor’s degree/ equivalent qualification on the date of issue of the certificate.
  • Their admission will be confirmed only when they submit the mark sheet and a certificate of having passed the bachelor’s degree equivalent qualification referred to in the certificate Issued by Principal/Registrar of their college/institute  failing which will automatically result in the cancellation of the provisional admission.
  • Conversion of ST/SC/OBC categories will as per GOI rules.

Admission Process

 

For ME/M.Tech:

 

Admission of GATE category candidates: Admission will be offered according to merit list prepared on the basis of valid GATE score of the qualified candidates in the respective branch only.

 

For candidates with equal GATE score, the preference will be given to the candidates in following order:

  • Percentage of qualifying examination or equivalent CGPA
  • Percentage of eighth semester in qualifying examination or equivalent CGPA
  • Date of Birth (candidate who is older in age shall be given priority).

Admission of Non-GATE category candidates:

  • If sufficient number of GATE candidates is not available, Non-GATE candidates will be considered for the admission for vacant seats in the GATE category only.
  • Candidates who have passed bachelor’s degree in the respective or allied branch of engineering/technology as specified with the minimum 55% of marks will be eligible for admission to respective M Tech programme as Non-GATE candidate.
  • Candidate will be considered for admission on merit, based on their marks in the qualifying examination (70% weight age) and marks obtained in the written test and/or interview (30% weight age).
  • For Non-GATE candidates, syllabus for written test will be same as that of latest GATE Examination of concerned M.E. /M. Tech. programme. There will be objective type questions of 50 marks and the duration will be one hour. The entrance test and interview shall be conducted by a panel of faculty in the respective branch of M Tech programme.

Admission of sponsored category candidates:

  • Candidates who process Bachelors degree in the respective or allied branch of technology as specified in Table-2 for admission to a particular M Tech programme, with the minimum 55% of marks in qualifying examination will be eligible for admission to respective M Tech programme.
  • The candidates must have minimum of consolidated 2 years of full time post qualification work experience in a technical institute like polytechnics/Engineering colleges and/or research organization /any Government Department or Government Autonomous Organizations/industry of repute at National/State level in the relevant field in which admission is being sought. Other conditions will apply as laid in the prospectus.
  • A Certificate from the employer must be furnished stating that the candidate is being sponsored to seek admission to the post-graduate degree programme, strictly in the format enclosed with the application form.
  • The admission procedure will be same as in section 3.2
  • Sponsored candidate seats will be filled up during the first round admission only.  In case, if sponsored candidate seats remain vacant, the same will be filled up by Gate Qualified and Non-Gate candidates as per admission procedure.

In case, sponsored candidates having equal merit marks calculated on the basis of qualifying degree examination, merit will be decided on the basis of:

  • Percentage of eighth semester in qualifying examination or equivalent CGPA
  • Date of Birth (candidate who is older in age shall be given priority).

All applications for admission to any PG Programmes will be received by Admission Committee on or before the schedule date notified in the advertisement and will be sent to the concerned department for scrutiny as per the eligibility and admission criteria mentioned above in Section-2 & 3 in the stipulated time fixed by the Admission Committee. After finalization of the list of the eligible candidates, the same will be uploaded on the institutional web site through the concerned departments regarding written test and/or interview.

 

For MBA:

 

Admission of CMAT/CAT/MAT category candidates: Admission will be offered according to merit list prepared on the basis of valid CMAT/CAT/MAT score of the qualified candidates followed by Group Discussion and / Personal Interview conducted at the institute.

 

For candidates with respective equal CMAT/CAT/MAT score, the preference will be given to the candidates in following order:

  • Percentage of qualifying examination or equivalent CGPA
  • Percentage of marks final in qualifying examination or equivalent CGPA
  • Date of Birth (candidate who is older in age shall be given priority).

Admission of sponsored category candidates:

  • Candidates who satisfy the minimum qualifications and working in the industry/government/regulatory bodies/research/academic institutions/donor/consultant organizations are encouraged to apply for the fulltime MBA on the basis of an institute level test (Written test and/or Interview and/or GD).
  • The candidates must have minimum of consolidated 2 years of full time post qualification work experience in Technical Institute like Polytechnics/Engineering Colleges and/or research organizations/any Government Department or Government Autonomous Organizations/industry of repute at National/State Level in the relevant field in which admission is being sought. Other conditions will apply as laid in the prospectus.
  • These candidates are required to submit, at the time of institute level test (Written test and/ Interview and/ or GD), a sponsorship certificate from their employer on a letter head, stating that for the period of his/her study at the NITTTR, the candidate will be treated as on duty and that he/she will be fully relieved for pursuing his/her studies for the period of the course.
  • The minimum work experience required for sponsored candidates is 2 years after attaining minimum qualification.

In case, Sponsored candidates having equal merit marks calculated on the basis of qualifying degree examination, merit will be decided on the basis of:

  • Percentage of marks  final year in qualifying examination or equivalent CGPA
  • Date of Birth (candidate who is older in age shall be given priority).
