Mangalore Institute of Technology & Engineering (MITE) was established in the year 2007 by Rajalaxmi Education Trust to fulfil the growing needs of the industry and aspirations of young students of Mangalore District and other parts of the country, which requires outstanding professionals who can be an asset to any organization. Located amidst lush greenery and a serene ambience in Moodbidri, the campus spreads over an area of 70 acres in the sylvan surroundings near Mijar en route to Karkala. Integrating modern design, construction technology and eco-friendly techniques, the campus provides the right setting to the students for effective learning.

Facilities:

Hostel: MITE is a complete residential campus, offering the best stay to the inmates. The environment is specifically designed to meet requirements of students. The college has elegantly built Girls' and Boys' hostels, with ample spacious rooms with attached bathrooms on a twin sharing basis. The hostels are located within the college campus. It also offers round the clock hot water, internet connection, washing machine on every floor, veg & non-veg food. add comfort to the convenience to the residents and that has been the prime consideration of the construction. Library: MITE has a fully computerized library, centrally air conditioned library with rich collections of books and periodicals. These includes 3647 titles, 18882 volumes, 68 National and 47 International Journals that includes Engineering and Management. As reference material for students and staff members, each book and journal has been chosen with utmost care to ensure that it will equip the reader with the most advanced information in the field of Science, Technology and Management. There is also a seperate Discussion room provided with the best facility to create a good ambience for Learning. A separate News paper and Magazine section also provided. The College library is a Member of INDEST-AICTE Consortium & VTU Consortium for the subscription of Online electronic resources. Under the Membership, Library has subscibed for E-Journals & E-Books.The Library also maintains a good collection of important CDs, 1700 E-Books and 32,880 E-Journals on Engineering & Management
