He graced as special guest on the inauguration ceremony of new campus of the only Media Gurukul in the country ‘Kushabhau Thakre University of Journalism and mass Communication’ here at Katadih on Saturday. Addressing the gathering he said that investment in the field of education is the capital investment for the development of the country. Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh graced the function as chief guest while Speaker Dharamlal Kaushik presided over the ceremony. BJP National General Secretary Jagat Prakash Nadda, eminent journalist Alok Mehta, nephew of Kushabhau Thakre, Prashant Thakre, MP Ramesh Bais and Nand Kumar Sai, PWD minister Brijmohan Agrawal, Higher Education minister Hemchand Yadav, Agriculture Minister Chandrashekhar Sahu and other MLA along with the renowned dignitaries, local residents of nearby villages and students were also present.
Further Gadkari said that using right to freedom of expression authentically media personnel can play a vital role in bringing revolutionary metamorphosis in the society. Later eminent journalist Alok Mehta stated the sure credit for the establishment of this University goes to former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee and Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh. Not only would the students from the Chhattisgarh but also from other state across the country would take advantage of this institution. The day is not far when the student of this University would take further this great initiative to higher level and make it globally recognized Journalism University.
University invites applications for admission to various courses for this academic session. Open counselling and spot admission for these courses will be held on 5th july 2014 from 9.00 AM. Integrated candidates can apply online or by post in prescribed format up to 30th June 2014.
