BIT, Mesra is a "Deemed University" under Sec. 3 of the U.G.C. Act 1956. The Board of Governors is responsible for the main functions and overall supervision of activities. It comprises representatives of the Ministry of Education, Government of India, the U.G.C., the State Government, The Chancellor, the AICTE, The Hindustan Charity Trust and the Institute Faculty. Shri C.K. Birla is the Chairman of the Board of Governors while the Governor of the state of Jharkhand officiates as the Institute's Chancellor.  There's a Technical Council that decides the academic policy of the Institute.

For over five decades, BIT Mesra (located 16 kms from  Ranchi, the Jharkhand state-capital) has been engaged in nurturing minds through a rich heritage of academic excellence. Essentially a hub of bustling student activities, the beautiful campus has been a second-home to thousands of students in their journey to challenge the times. Established in 1955 by visionary-industrialist Mr. B.M. Birla, it is today one of the most premier engineering destinations in India.

How to Apply:

1. To fill online application form, click on the link “CLICK HERE TO APPLY ONLINE” to register for the program and create password for the application process. Do not share the password with anybody. Please see instructions for filling online application form.

2. Eligible candidates must complete and submit the application form online only [link available on the Institute website www.bitmesra.ac.in].

3. Pay application fee of Rs.1,500/- (General / OBC candidates) and Rs.1,000/- (SC/ST candidates) through ICICI payment Gateway (candidates may use net banking / debit card / credit card of any nationalized bank) till the last date of application process. Fee once remitted shall not be refunded.

4. Candidates should proceed to fill the Online Application Form only after they satisfy themselvesthat they fulfill all the eligibility criteria.

Notes:

1. The candidates can use one application form for applying multiple courses within the Department, subject to fulfilling the eligibility conditions.

2. Please use separate application form(s) for applying two or more programs such as M.Tech. (EE), M.Tech. (ECE), M.Tech. (CSE) etc.

3. Written Test / Counselling schedules (wherever applicable) for the above programs will be announced by 14th June 2022, only on Institute website. Candidates are advised to visit the Institute website periodically for updates and any other matter pertaining to the admission procedures.

4. Candidates appearing for their final examinations in 2022 can also apply, and if selected can join the program provisionally. Provisionally selected candidates will be required to sign an undertaking at the time of admission on Non-Judicial Stamp Paper of Rs. 20/- to the effect that if they fail to obtain the requisite marks in graduation / postgraduation their admission will be cancelled. The deadline for submission of mark-sheet / degree certificate is 31 October 2022, failing which the provisional admission will liable to be cancelled. (Please refer Annexure-I for format of the above undertaking).
