All India Pre-Medical & Pre-Dental Entrance Test (AIPMT- 2018), For MBBS and BDS Courses, Conducted by CBSE , Delhi
About Us:

 

In compliance with the directives of the Hon'ble Supreme Court of India, the Central Board of Secondary Education, Delhi would be conducting the All India Pre-Medical/Pre-Dental Entrance Test, for the academic session 2016-17. This entrance test is being conducted for the 15% merit positions in the Medical/Dental Colleges of India as specified in the directives of the Supreme Court and will be governed by the rules and regulations specified for the same by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India from time to time.There are also State Governments/Universities/Institutions voluntarily participating in the All India Pre-Medical/Pre-Dental Entrance Test - 2016 for using its merit list for admission in the Medical Colleges/Dental Colleges against seats under their control.

 

The responsibility of the CBSE is limited to the conduct of the entrance test, declaration of result and providing merit list to the DGHS and participating States/Universities/Institutions.The counselling for successful candidates under 15% All India Quota seats is conducted by the DGHS and the Counselling for admission in seats under the control of other participating States/Universities/Institutions shall be conducted by their respective Authorities.

 

Pattern of AIPMT 2016:

 

The Entrance Test shall consist of one paper containing 180 objective type questions (four options withsingle correct answer) from Physics, Chemistry and Biology (Botany & Zoology) to be answered on thespecially designed machine-gradable sheet using Ball Point Pen provided by CBSE at centre only.The duration of test would be 03 hours

Eligibility:

  • Indian Nationals and Overseas Citizens of India are Eligible for appearing in the All India  Pre-Medical/Pre-Dental Entrance Test (AIPMT) subject to the conditions prescribed in the Information Bulletin.
  • He/She has completed age of 17 years at the time of admission or will complete the age on or before 31st December of the year of his/her admission to the 1st year M.B.B.S./B.D.S. course.
  • The upper age limit for candidates seeking admission under 15% All India Quota Seats in edical/Dental Colleges run by the Union of India, State Government, Municipal and other local authorities in India except in the State of Andhra Pradesh and Jammu & Kashmir is 25 years as on 31st December of the year of the entrance examination. Further provided that this upper age limit shall be relaxed by a period of 5 (five) years for the candidates of Scheduled Castes/ Scheduled Tribes/Other Backward Classes.
  • Candidates from the State of Andhra Pradesh and Jammu & Kashmir are eligible to appear in AIPMT for the seats in AFMC.But are not eligible for 15% All India Quota seats had opted uot of All India Scheme since its inception.
  • The upper age limit for candidates seeking admission in MBBS/BDS seats under the control of participating States/Universities/Institutions shall be as per the rules of the State/University/Institution concerned.
  • The candidate must have passed in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Bio-technology and English individually and must have obtained a minimum of 50% marks taken together in Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Bio-technology at the qualifying examination. In respect of candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribes or Other Backward Classes, the marks obtained in Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Bio-technology taken together in qualifying examination be 40% instead of 50% for General Candidates. Further, for persons for locomotory disability of lower limbs, the minimum of 45% marks for General-PH and 40% marks for SC-PH/ST-PH/OBC-PH are required. Those who are appearing Class XII examination in 2014 can also appear for the entrance test provisionally subject to their fulfilling the conditions later.

Reservation of Seats:

15% seats for SC candidates, 7.5% seats for ST candidates, 27% seats for non-creamy layer OBC candidates in Central Institutions only and 3% seats on horizontal basis for Physically Handicapped candidates are reserved in 15% All India Quota for MBBS / BDS courses.

 

The States, Universities and Institutions participating in AIPMT 2018 for filling up of MBBS/BDS seats :

Besides under 15% merit positions of All India Quota seats, the following States/Universities/Institutions have also consented to use the merit list of AIPMT 2016 for admission to MBBS/BDS seats under their control,they are Haryana,Himachal Pradesh ,Madhya Pradesh ,Andaman & Nicobar ,Arunachal Pradesh ,Manipur ,Meghalaya ,Odisha ,Rajasthan ,Chandigarh (UT) ,University of Delhi ,Armed Forces Medical College (AFMC) Pune ,Banaras Hindu University Varanasi (UP) ,Hamdard University New Delhi.Candidates who wish to seek admission in these State/University/Institution(s) may confirm eligibility conditions from the respective States/University/Institutions concerned in advance.

Candidates, mainly from the urban areas, are well versed with the technology of onlinesubmission of application form and without any help they are capable of submitting theapplication form online and 24x7. However, for providing support to candidates fromrural areas who may otherwise find it difficult to submit the online application due tovarious constraints, CBSE is using the services of Common Services Centre, Ministry of I.T.,Government of India under the Digital India initiatives of Hon’ble Prime Minister. TheCommon Services Centre (CSC) scheme is a part of the ambitious national eGovernancePlan (NeGP) of Government of India and is managed at each villagepanchayat level by a Village level entrepreneur (VLE).There are more than 1.5 lac Common Services Centres across the country which will provide the desired support to candidates from rural areas in online submission of application form and payment of fee through e-wallet.
