The aim of the Bangalore Military School is to impart quality education to the boys to enable them to take the All India Secondary Examination and the Senior Secondary Certificate Examination of the CBSE New Delhi and as to facilitate their entry into the National Defence Academy, Khadakwala. The motto of Bangalore Military School is "Sheelam Param Bhushanam" which means "Character is the highest virtue." The school offers science stream at +2 level and Humanities subjects till Std. X. The medium of instruction is English but Hindi is a compulsory subject. Bangalore Military School has provision for 340 boarders; 87 per cent of the boarder vacancies are reserved for sons for military personnel and 13 per cent for the wards of civilians. The age of the cadet should not be less than 10 years and more than 12 years of age on July 1 of the year of admission. He should have passed Std. V at the time of admission and should be medically fit. Bangalore Military School has an NCC contingent made up of troops of army, naval and air force wings of Junior Divisions. Facilities: Bangalore Military School is basically a residential school with few day scholars. The sons of JCOs and ORs are also provided with free clothing. The school also has an eight bedded hospital and is authorized an RMO with two Nursing Assistants. A new cadet’s mess with all modern facilities has been constructed in the school. The school also has a CSD canteen.
