The Finish Government has offered 10 scholarships for postgraduate studies or research (after Master’s level but not for postdoctoral and research). Priority will be given to doctoral studies and teaching at a higher educational institutions in Finland in 2012-2013. The duration of scholarship is from three months to nine months. The scholarship includes a monthly allowance of euro 1,200; international airfare and internal travel in india will be provided by the University Grants Commission to the selected scholar.
Requirements:
Indian nationals who intend to pursue postgraduate studies as a visiting student, participate in a research project or teach at a higher education institution or conduct a public research in Finland; have established contact with the Finnish receiving institution before applying; have a letter of invitation from the academic supervisor in Finland; have earned at least a Master’s level degree before applying; have not spent more than one year already at a Finnish higher education institution immediately before the intended scholarship period in Finland. The candidate should be able to give proof of sufficient skills in speaking and writing the language needed in study/research. The offer will be applicable to those faculty employed/students at higher educational universities/institutions approved under Section 2(f) and 12 B of the UGC Act. The university/institute deemed to be university/college is required to give an undertaking that the university/institution deemed to be university/college agrees to provide to the teacher full salary and allowances for the duration of his visit and would treat him as ‘on duty’ without any contribution from UGC towards the salary of the teacher.
