About Us:

University of Petroleum and Energy Studies (UPES) was established in the year 2003 through UPES Act, 2003 of the State Legislature of Uttarakhand. With an ambitious vision and unique approach, UPES emerged as an innovative institution offering industry-focused specialized graduate, post graduate and doctoral programs in key areas such as Energy, Infrastructure, Transportation, Information Technology, Design, Planning & Architecture, Public Policy and Legal studies. Founded by prominent educationalists and industry experts, UPES is committed to maintain high standards in providing quality education. The university endeavours to be recognized as a 'Nation Builders University' with a progressive vision of creating specialized professionals in the core sectors that can contribute in the economic growth of the country.

B.Tech. Scholarship:

Scholarship/Fee Concession:

• University of Petroleum & Energy Studies offers limited scholarships in some specific programs as decided by the University. The scholarships are awarded purely on academic merit cum means.
• Waiving of Tuition Fee partially/fully will be considered for those who are awarded scholarships.
• The details of the scholarships would be provided to the students in the student's bulletin given to the students at the time of registration. Award of Scholarships will be decided by the Scholarship Committee & its decision shall be final and binding.

25% Concession on Tuition fee:

• 25% Concession on Tuition fee shall be provided only to Uttarakhand bonafide resident students on merit-cum-means basis to be decided by the University subject to fulfilling the following conditions:
• Students’ whose gross annual family income is not more than 3 lakh.
• Students’ who possess valid ‘Sthai Niwas Praman Patra’ from Uttarakhand state
• Should have passed class X & XII level schooling from Uttarakhand. However, this condition may be relaxed for wards of defense personnel subject to producing of posting certificate outside the state issued by competent authority

100% Scholarship on Tuition Fee:

• Scholarship will be offered to students securing an aggregate of 85% marks in class XII & 90% marks in PCM for B.Tech. (All Streams) in CBSE or ICSE Examination Board passing out in 2015. Such scholarships will be limited to 5% of seats in each B.Tech. Program. Scholarships will be allotted after commencement of the classes in Merit order to eligible candidates.
• Scholarships will be given on the basis of merit only.
• Continuation of Scholarship in the subsequent year will be as per the University policy

Scholarships for top rankers in the UPES Engineering Aptitude Test (UPESEAT)

UPES is pleased to announce 6 scholarships of Rs.50,000 each for students securing top ranks in the UPES Engineering Aptitude Test (UPESEAT). 3 out of these 6 scholarships are reserved for girl students. These scholarships are being awarded by Oilmax Energy Pvt. Ltd., an integrated Oil & Gas Company with a balanced portfolio spreading from Exploration, Production, EPC, O&M to Gas Business.

Conditions for Scholarship Allotment:

• Student should be an applicant for UPES-EAT.
• As per the merit order ranking in UPES-EAT top 3 boys and top 3 girls will qualify for these scholarships. In case a qualified student does not register for a program in UPES then the scholarship will be passed on to the next qualified student.
• Should join and get registered for a program in UPES
• Disbursement of the scholarship is within 45 days from the date of joining the program.

* In case a student have a tie with another student in the UPES-EAT rank (same score), the student having a higher PCM (Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics) score in Class 12 will get the first priority

* If there is a tie in the UPES rank as well as Class 12 PCM marks, the student who is elder in age will be given priority

Courses Offered:

Eligibility for UPESEAT 2018:

• Minimum 60% marks at Higher & Senior Secondary level (10th & 12th).
• Minimum 60% aggregate in Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics at Senior Secondary level also mandatory.

• UPES Placements 2015 started with a bang this year, with setting a new record of 1100 plus students getting offers across the three colleges that is College of Engineering, College of Management & College of Law, by many reputed national & international companies.
