About Us:

Jamia Millia Islamia, an institution originally established at Aligarh in United Provinces, India in 1920 became a Central University by an act of the Indian Parliament in 1988. In Urdu language, Jamia means ‘University’, and Millia means ‘National’. The story of its growth from a small institution in the pre-independence India to a central university located in New Delhi—offering integrated education from nursery to research in specialized areas—is a saga of dedication, conviction and vision of a people who worked against all odds and saw it growing step by step. They “built up the Jamia Millia stone by stone and sacrifice by sacrifice,” said Sarojini Naidu, the nightingale of India.

Deemed to be University: In 1962, the University Grants Commission declared the Jamia a ‘deemed to be University’. Soon thereafter, the School of Social Work was established in 1967. In 1971, Jamia started the Zakir Husain Institute of Islamic Studies, to honour Dr. Zakir Husain, who had passed away in 1969. BE course in Civil Engineering commenced in 1978; in 1981, the faculties of Humanities and Languages, Natural Sciences, Social Science, and the State Resource Centre were founded. In 1983, it started the Mass Communication Research Centre and the Centre for Coaching and Career Planning. In 1985, it established the Faculty of Engineering & Technology and the University Computer Centre. Academic Staff College and the Academy of Third World Studies followed in 1987 and 1988.

The Admission in B.Tech. & B.Arch. programmes for the session 2018-19 of Jamia Millia Islamia will be based on the scores of JEE (Main) - 2018 conducted by CBSE.

• All aspiring candidates for admission to Jamia Millia Islamia are hereby informed to appear in JEE Main-2018. The website is www.jeemain.nic.in.
• In addition to appearing in JEE main-2018 exam, the candidates are required to submit an online admission form of Jamia Millia Islamia available on JMI website (http://jmi.ac.in/admissions) from 5^th December 2017 to 7TH March 2018.
• Jamia Millia Islamia will give admission strictly as per merit of JEE (Main)-2018 score and admission norms & reservation policy of the University.
• The candidates appearing in JEE (Main)-2018 and submitting the online admission form of Jamia will ONLY be considered for admission to B. Tech. & B. Arch. programmes.

• Organizing Assessment Test for under-graduates/post graduates by Aspiring Minds Assessment Pvt. Ltd.
• Under the Industry-Institute Interaction initiative organized a Cricket Match between HR Heads team NHRDN XI VS Professors team VC XI.

• Organized lecture of Mr. A.D. Burman, General Manager-HR, Maruti Udyog Limited.

Candidates interested in applying for admission to JMI’s B.Tech. or B.Arch. programs are required to:

a) Apply for JEE (Main) examination 2018 on CBSE portal at the following link: (http://jeemain.nic.in/jeemainapp/root/loginpage.aspx)

1)Candidates seeking admission to JMI’s B.Tech. programs must appear in JEE (Main)- 2018 Paper-1 examination.

2) Candidates seeking admission to JMI’s B.Arch. programs must appear in JEE (Main)-2018 Paper-2 examination.

3) Candidates submitting application for JMI’s B.Tech. as well as B.Arch. programs must appear in JEE (Main)-2018 Paper-1 as well as Paper-2 examinations.

4) The seats for admission to B.Tech. and B.Arch. programs at JMI will be allotted as per prescribed JMI’s admission procedure, applicable reservation of seats and the MERIT solely determined by the rank in JEE (Main)-2018 Paper-1 and Paper-2 respectively.

Candidate applying at JMI has to submit 8 digit JEE Main 2018 application number in online application form, which is issued from JEE Main 2018 portal after submission of form.

NOTE:

Only those candidates who have passed their Class 12th Exam or any equivalent qualifying examination in 2016 or 2017; or those who are appearing in their Class 12th Exam or any equivalent qualifying examination in 2018 are eligible to appear in JEE(Main)- 2018. Candidates who passed Class 12th/Qualifying examination in 2015 or before as well as those who will appear in such examination in 2019 or later are not eligible to appear in JEE (Main) –2018. Candidates who appeared in class 12th/equivalent qualifying Examinations in 2015, did not pass in 2015, but passed in 2016 are also not eligible to appear in JEE (Main) 2018.
