Delhi University Medical/Dental Entrance Test (DUMET)

About DUMET:

 

The Delhi University Medical/Dental Entrance Test (DUMET) is carried out by the University of Delhi - Faculty of Medical Sciences, for the admittance of students into the MBBS and BDS programs offered at the University. The examination will be conducted in Delhi only. Only aspirants who have finished their standard 12 can apply for this test.

 

The MBBS course is offered mainly in 4 colleges that have an affiliation to the University of Delhi. They are the Lady Harding Medical College, University College of Medical Sciences and Maulana Azad Medical College. The Guru Tegh Bahadur Hospital also offers the MBBS course. The BDS course is also offered in the Maulana Azad Medical College. As a large numer of students appear for this examination annually, the competition for this exam is generally high. Students must be well prepared if they wish to appear for this test.

It is notified for all concerned that the University of Delhi will NOT conduct Delhi University Medical Dental Entrances Test (DUMET) for admission to MBBS/BDS courses under Delhi quota.

Eligibility:

 

Candidates appearing for the DUMET exam must have a pass in class 12 with a strong background in the science discipline. They must have also learned English language as one of their topics. The schools in which they have finished their education must be located within the national territory of Delhi. Candidates must have scored above 50% marks (40% marks for children of the reserved categories).

 

Age: Students who are appearing for this exam must not be below 17 years of age.


Who can apply for DUMET?

 

Individuals who are permanent residents of Delhi can submit the admission form for this examination. Aspirants of other states are not permitted. The candidate ought to have finished their class 10+2 from an educational institution in Delhi that has been recognized by the ICSE or CBSE boards. It is also mandatory that the students should have learned Biology, Physics and Chemistry in their class 10+1 and 10+2. Students who are applying for the DUMET exam must have secured above 50 percent too. Students who are giving their finals exams in class 10+2 in the same academic year can apply as well.
