About AICET:


D. Y. Patil Education Society is established in the year-1987 with the mission to provide best quality education in the area of health sciences comparable with the best institutions in the world. Presently the Society is running following institutions:

  • Dr. D. Y. Patil Medical College, Kolhapur.
  • Dr. D. Y. Patil Hospital & Research Centre, Kolhapur.

Dr. D.Y.Patil Hospital and Medical Research centre is a teaching hospital attached to the Medical College. The Hospital is constructed on a sprawling campus admeasuring 25 acres of land. The Hospital is equipped with a gamut of state of art. Medical facilities required for primary, secondary and tertiary healthcare are provided. The civil cost of the building is Rs. 160.0 million and cost of the equipments and the furniture is Rs. 75.8 million. The Hospital has Trauma care unit, Neonatal ICU, ICU with 30 beds, ICCU with 10 beds and there are thirteen operation theaters in the hospital. Hospital has 604 beds. The hospital has developed some superspeciality like Cardiology, Neurology, Nephrology etc. and the development of the other specialties are in pipe line.

After almost two decades of work as an affiliated Medical College, earlier of Shivaji University, Kolhapur and later of Maharashtra University of Health Sciences, Nashik, based on excellent and constant academic performance, a very strong and aesthetic infrastructural system, efficient and transparent governance and distinct potential for future progress , the department of Secondary and Higher Education, Ministry of Human Resource Development, on the recommendations of University Grants Commission under section 3 of UGC act of 1956, vide its resolution No. F.9-26/2004-U3 dated 1st September 2005, has accorded the University status to D.Y.Patil Education Society consisting of D.Y. Patil Medical College with immediate effect.

Eligibility for AICET:


Nationality and Age:
The candidate, seeking to appear at the AICET shall be Indian national and shall have completed 17 years of age on or before 31st December  or as prescribed by the concerned council.

 

Qualification:

  • Passed the Higher Secondary Certificate (H.S.C) examination/ the Indian School Certificate (ISC) examination/ Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) examination or any other examination equivalent to 10+2 HSC examination of any recognized Board/ University from any school/ college situated in India after 12 years of study. The candidate with other qualifications shall have to get equivalence certificate from the Association of Indian Universities (AIU), New Delhi. If studied under foreign system in India, he/ she should have equivalence certificate of AIU.
  • The Candidate, seeking admission to the course, shall have passed in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English individually and must have obtained at least 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology taken together in the qualifying examination, i.e., 10+2/ HSC or an equivalent examination.
  • The candidate belonging to the SC, ST and OBC shall have obtained at least 40% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology taken together in the qualifying examination (HSC or equivalent) as per course qualification.
  • A candidate who has appeared or is likely to appear for qualifying examination i.e. H.S.C etc. and whose results have not been declared at the time of AICET shall also be considered eligible to appear for AICET, provided he/ she has offered the above mentioned subjects at the said qualifying examinations.
  • CET- Marks Eligibility for Admissions to MBBS Course: A candidate must secure not less than 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology (PCB) at Common Entrance Test AICET.
  • CET-Marks for admission to B.Sc Nursing: A candidate will be selected on the basis of merit in Common Entrance Test AICET.

Mode of the Test


MBBS and B.Sc (N) the question paper consists of two hundred objective-type Multiple Choice Question (MCQs) on Physics, Chemistry, Botany and Zoology (50 marks on each of them). The duration of the test is 3 hours.
