Vijaya Vittala Institute of Technology believes that knowledge can empower the youth into a national asset by providing proper education and guidance.Vijaya Vittala Institute of Technology (VVIT) was established by Sri Vijaya Vittala Charitable and Educational Trust, affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University, Belgaum and approved by All India Council for Technical Education, New Delhi.With a view to ensure that VVITians get the very best of academic exposure, all academic activities at the college are governed and monitored by the Advisory Board and the Governing Council comprising of eminent personalities and experts from the field of academics. The board oversees critical aspects such as Programme Design, Implementation and Feedback.Specific problem of the students are identified through monthly student feedback and remedial action is taking by the faculty.A Strong academic orientation lays the foundation for life-long learning, ingraining in the youth the psyche of the external student. It Is imperative that all students attend the orientation programs conducted in the campus. The orientation program enables the students to familiarize themselves with the teaching methodology and aids used in the classroom, use of in the campus and library. The program also focus on academic and personal counseling, enabling students with necessary study skills required for academics setting, enabling students to adjust to different methods of teaching. VVIT believes in regular parent teacher interaction to improve the student's performance, the college website provides individual logins to parents with accesses to student's academic result and attendance.

 

VVIT is affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University in India, having 215 colleges affiliated to it with Under Graduate courses in 28 disciplines and Post Graduate Progtammes in 71 disciplines. The theory and practical syllabus is constantly revised by VTU to keep the students on par with industry demands.At VVIT students receive regular feedback from the respective faculty. The faculty employs a range of assessment methods through written work, Internals, Unit test, Presentation, Project and Model Exams. Students receive constructive suggestion from their instructors. Eligibility :

 

B.Tech : The Government orders issued from time to time in this regard shall prevail :

  • Admission to I year / I semester Bachelor Degree in Engineering / Technology shall be open to the candidates who have passed the second year Pre-University or XII standard or equivalent examination recognized by the University.
  • In addition the candidate shall have secured not less than forty five percent (45%) marks in the aggregate with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects, along with any one of the following subjects, namely, Chemistry, Bio-Technology, Biology, Computer Science and Electronics.
  • Provided that, the minimum marks for the purpose of eligibility shall be forty percent(40%) in optional subjects in case of candidates belonging to SC/ST and OBC candidates from Karnataka. Provided further that, the candidate shall have studied and passed English as one of the subjects.

M.Tech : Admission to the Master of Technology Course shall be open to all the candidates who have passed B.E. / B.Tech. Examinations (in relevant field) of VTU or any other University / Institution or any other examinations recognized as equivalent thereto.

AMIE qualification in respective branches shall be equivalent to B.E./B.Tech :

  • Courses of VTU for admission to M.Tech. However, the candidate seeking admission to M.Tech. courses on the basis of AMIE shall also take the Common Entrance Test.
  • Admission to M.Tech. Course shall be open to the candidates who have passed the prescribed qualifying examinations with not less than 50% of the marks in the aggregate of all the years of the degree examinations. However, in the case of candidates belonging to SC/ST and Group I, the aggregate percentage of marks in the qualifying examinations shall not be less than 45%.
  • There shall be an Entrance Examination for admission to all the PG Courses.
  • The candidates, who have qualified in the GATE Examination for the appropriate branch of engineering, shall be given priority. They shall be exempt from taking Entrance Examination.

Diploma courses: The Government orders issued from time to time in this regard shall prevail :

  • Admission to I year / I semester Diploma shall be open to the candidates who have passed the SLC or X standard or equivalent examination recognized by the University.
  • Admission to diploma courses is based on merit in each category of reservation. Out of the total seats 50% of the seats are reserved for various groups of the society. Remaining 50% of the seats are allotted based on the marks scored in the SSLC in Science and Maths for technical Courses. For admission to non technical courses total marks scored by the candidate in SSLC is taken into consideration.
  • Admissions to Diploma Program are done by the Directorate. The admission process usually starts with the issue of the notification for admission by the Directorate in leading news papers of the State. The advertisement generally appears in and around the dates of announcement of Secondary School Leaving Certificate results conducted by the State Govt. It may be some time in the last week of April or First week of May or around that period. The announcement is also made on the website of the Directorate. The polytechnic websites will also carry the details of admission notification in their respective sites.

Training and placement cell :

 

The cell always aims to bridge the gap between the industry requirement and current potential of the students by means of training, industrial visits, industry experts talk, career seminars, and other possible means.

 

The Department of Training & Placement plays an important role in shaping the career of students from their induction and orientation, summer internships, mid-term projects, right to their final placements and even beyond. Besides the department also undertakes various academic and non-academic initiatives so that students are well equipped to meet varied industry requirements.

 

The goal of Training & Placement Cell is to provide world class training and employment opportunities to the students of Vijaya Vittala Institute of Technology in leading organizations. The vision of Placement Cell is to be a centre of excellence in grooming the students to produce human resource of exceptional technical skills and leadership qualities to serve global technical needs.

 

Training activities are organized throughout the year in an effort towards preparing the prospective students for the campus selection programs. Students are trained over communication skills, personality development, aptitude, and technical skills etc. The cell keeps on inviting various industries and reputed firms for campus recruitment. It moulds the engineering graduates to young professionals. The cell is sensitized to function all through the year towards generating placement and training opportunities for the students. The Training & Placement Cell facilitates the process of placement of students passing out from the Institute besides collaborating with leading organizations and institutes in setting up of internship and training program of students. The Cell also organizes Industrial Visits throughout the year to reputed organization to give hands on experience and accelerate the process of learning outside the classrooms. The cell also conducts Pre-Placement Talks as per mutual convenience of the students and the corporate. The Placement Cell is assisted by all the students and staff members directly or indirectly.
