In keeping with this, the University offers a total of 108 programmes under 7 faculties at Undergraduate, Postgraduate and Research levels: Law, Management, Computer Studies, Health Sciences, Media, Communication & Design, Humanities & Social Sciences and Engineering. The University was accredited by NAAC with 'A' Grade with CGPA of 3.35 in 2009. It was ranked 3rd Multi-stream University by Times of India 2009. Symbiosis Institute of Business Management Pune & Symbiosis Law School (SLS) is among the top ten Institutes in India in their categories as per leading National Surveys. SLS is the first and only Indian partner in Erasmus Mundus Global Consortium of Law with European Universities. It also has academic collaborations with reputed Foreign Universities like Nanyang Technological University, University of Houston, Berlin School of Economics, etc. Symbiosis Centre for International Education (SCIE) promotes internationalisation of SIU.
It invites International Students to SIU for a Semester Abroad Programme. SIU is actively involved with student & faculty exchange programmes with Leibniz University, Hannover & Berlin School of Economics. SCIE has introduced Scholar-in-Residence Programme. It conducts a three-week intensive 'Study India' Programme for International Students. SIU, through a recently established Symbiosis Institute of Research & Innovation has embarked on an ambitious Research Programme. It offers Ph.D. Programme as per revised UGC guidelines of July 2009. It has identified 3 Research clusters: (i) Bio-Medical Research, (ii) Technology IT & Design & (iii) Social Sciences as its focus. SIU is involving industry closely into its Research projects. SIU maintains high academic standards through regular updating of its curricula, teaching methods & study materials. It frequently conducts Faculty Development Programmes. Its collection of books & digital resource in the library is modern & rich. Its record of campus placements is enviable. SIU is committed to fostering a contemporary, technology-rich and student-centric teaching-learning space.
