About Us:


The State Institute of Hospitality Management Kozhikode is an Autonomous Institute jointly sponsored by Ministry of Tourism, Government of India and Department of Tourism, Government of Kerala. Registered under Society of Registration Act with District Registrar of Societies, Kozhikode the institute is located on the West Hills Kozhikode, adjacent to Government Guest House and is 5 km from Kozhikode railway station. Its first academic session commenced from July 2008.

 

Ever since the first academic session commenced on July, SIHM Kozhikode is regarded to be the right place to acquire skills and knowledge and to improve the attitude and professional skills of young and motivated spirits in the field of Hospitality Management.  The facilities and amenities have been created adhering to accredited norms of National Council for Hotel Management in respect to building planning, staffing, equipment requirements, and infrastructure facilities. The Institute is fully equipped with appropriate laboratories and classrooms for the B.Sc. Degree Program. Institute is also outfitted with experienced faculty, well-appointed & well-equipped labs, classrooms, guest rooms and a well furnished library.  A new campus in 6 acres is under construction near the Kozhikode beach.

 

The  Institute is affiliated to National Council for Hotel Management & Catering Technology, A-34, Sector 62, NOIDA - 201 301 (www.nchmct.org) which is the apex formation in the country for educational & professional training in Hospitality Management and Operation.

B.Sc in Hospitality and Hotel Administration

 

 

Eligibility:

 

For B.Sc HHA:

  • The minimum qualification for admission is 10+2 system of Senior Secondary Education or its equivalent with English as one of the compulsory subject.
  • Age limit is 22 years for General / PH and 25 years for SC / ST candidates as on 1st July. In the case of Scheduled Caste / Scheduled Tribe candidates, upper age limit is relaxable by 3 years.
  • Candidates appearing in 10+2 or equivalent examination can appear in JEE for being considered on provisional basis. Provisional admissions will stand cancelled if proof of having passed the qualifying examination (10+2 or its equivalent) is not submitted to the concerned Institute.
  • Admission will be subjected to verification of facts from the original certificates / documents produced by the candidates. Decision of NCHM&CT regarding the eligibility shall be final. Even after the admission to the Institute if an applicant is found ineligible on account of supplying false information of false testimonials or for having suppressed any material information, his / her admission will be cancelled.
