Raja Balwant Singh College, Agra, formerly known as Balwant Rajput College, is well recognized for its phenomenal epoch making progress. This institution was started as a small boarding house for 20 students, way back in 1885 in the out house of "The Kotla House" in Bagh Farzana Area of Civil Lines, Agra. The credit for the same goes to Late Shri Raja Balwant Singh ji, Ruler of Awagarh Estate and the Founder of this institution. This Boarding House got recognised as High school in 1899, from where the first batch of students appeared at the Matriculation examination of Allahabad University in 1901.The High School was raised to the level of an Intermediate College in 1928 and to that of a degree college in 1940. The Faculty of Engineering and Technology, R.B.S college, Bichpuri(Agra) was started in the year 1996 with three branches of engineering viz., Computer Science and Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering and Food Technology. Initially these courses were affiliated to Dr. B.R. Ambedkar University, Agra. The branch of Chemical Engineering was added in the year 1999. In the year 2000, the F.E.T got affiliation from Uttar Pradesh Technical University (UPTU), Lucknow established by the Government of Uttar Pradesh on 8th May 2000 vide Act No. 1248(2)XVII-V-I-I-19-2000 Uttar Pradesh Adhiniyam Sankhya 23 of 2000. In the year 2004, two more branches of Biotechnology and Mechanical Engineering were started and the intake of the existing branches of CS and EC was raised from 60 to 90 each and in FT and CHE the intake was increased from the existing 40 to 60 each.. In the year 2006, M.Tech course in Food Technology was started with an intake of 18 seats.

The Faculty of Architecture & Town Planning and the Faculty of Pharmacy were added from the academic session 2011-12 for the B.Arch and B.Pharma Courses. The intake of Biotechnology branch was increased from the initial 30 seats to 60 seats. The institute got approval from AICTE to open two new courses of B.Tech; Electrical Engineering and Civil Engineering with an intake of 60 seats each. M.Tech course in Electronics and Communications with 18 seats was also started from the academic session 2012-13. All these courses are approved by AICTE and are affiliated to U.P. Technical University, Lucknow. AICTE, Uttar Pradesh Technical University, Lucknow (UPTU) and State Government have given their approval of the council to integrate the Faculty of Engineering and Technology, Faculty of Pharmacy and Faculty of Architecture &Town Planning into one campus and officially changed the institute name from Faculty of Engineering and Technology, R.B.S College, Bichpuri, Agra into the name of Raja Balwant Singh Engineering Technical Campus, Bichpuri, Agra.

Eligibility:

Admissions to B.Tech Ist Semester and B.Tech IIIrd Semester (For Engg. Diploma Holdersand B.SC. Graduates) will be made as per the rules prescribed by the Academic Council of the U.P.Technical University Lucknow.

For Admission in B.Tech. (through Entrance Examination)

1. For Admission in B.Tech Ist Semester: A candidate should have pass the 10+2 examination of the U.P. Board or its equivalent with Mathematics & Physics as compulsory subjects and one of the following; Chemistry / Biology / Biotechnology / Technical Vocational subjects with at least 45% marks for GEN & OBC & 40% marks for SC / ST candidates in aggregate without grace in the above.
2. For Admission in B.Tech (Biotechnology) Ist Semester: A candidate should have passed the 10+2 examination of the U.P. Board or its equivalent with Pysics and Mathmatics or Biology as compulsory subjects and one of the following; Chemistry/Biology/Biotechnology/Technical Vocational subject as subjects with atleast 45% marks for GEN & OBC & 40% marks for SC/ST candidates in aggregate without grace in the above.
3. For Admission in B.Tech IIIrd Semseter (Lateral Entry): A candidate should have passed 3 years Engg. Diploma in any branch of engineering (Except Agriculture Engg., Pharmacy & Architecture) from an institute located in U.P. and the candidate has passed the 3 years Engineering Diploma with above mentioned marks from institution reorganization by the Board of Technical Education, U.P.
4. Candidate who have passed 3 years B.Sc Degree from any recognized University and passed 12^th Standard with Mathematics as one of the subject securing minimum 45% marks for GEN & OBC & 40% marks for SC/ST candidates in aggregate without grace in the above are also eligible for admission to IInd year in any branch if Engineering / Technology.

For Admission in B.Pharma:

1. For Admission in B.Pharma 1st Semester: A candidate should have passed the 10 +2 examination of the U.R Board or its equivalent with Physics and Chemistry as compulsory subjects and one of the following; Mathematics/Biology/Biotechnology/Technical Vocational subject with at least 45% marks for GEN & OBC & 40% marks for SC/ST candidates in aggregate without grace in the above.
2. For Admission in B.Pharma IIIrd Semester (Lateral Entry): A Candidate should have passed 2/3 years Diploma in Pharmacy from an institution located in U.P. with minimum 45% marks (40% for SC/ST) or whose parents (Father or Mother) are domicile of U.P. and he /she has passed the 2/3 Years Diploma in Pharmacy with above mentioned marks from an institution recognized by the Board of Technical Education, U.P.

For Admission in B.Arch.:

1. For Admission in B.Arch 1st Semester: A candidate should have passed the 10+2 examination of the U.P.Board or its equivalent with Mathematics and Physics as compulsory subjects and one of the following; Chemistry/Computer Science/Biology/Engineering Drawing/Technical Vocational subject as subjects with minimum 50% marks in aggregate and clearly passed without grace.
2. A Candidate possessing 3yrs Diploma in Architecture (10+3) recognized by Central / State Government is also eligible for admission in 1st year of B.Arch. provided the candidate as passed the diploma examination securing minimum 50% marks in aggregate without grace.
3. Lateral Entry in 2nd year of B.Arch. Course is not permissible.

For Admissions in M.Tech.:

The applicant for M. Tech. programmes must fulfil the following criteria:

1. General / OBC candidates, with 60 % marks in graduation in Engineering or Technologies are eligible.
2. SC / ST candidates, with 55% marks in graduation in Engineering or Technologies are eligible.

• For admission to M.Tech. (Computer Science Et Engineering), apart from B.Tech graduates in the same branch, candidates having degree of MCA, M.Sc.(Computer Science) with at least 60% marks for General / OBC candidates & 55% marks for SC / ST candidates are also eligible.
• For admission to M.Tech. (Electronics Et Communication Engineering), apart from B.Tech graduates in the same branch, candidates having degree of M.Sc. (Electronics) with at least 60%marks (for General / OBC candidates), & 55% marks (for SC / ST candidates) are also eligible.
• For admission to M.Tech. (Bio-Technology), apart from B.Tech graduates in the same branch, candidates having degree of M.Sc.in Physical / Chemical / Biological / Veterinary / Agricultural Science or Biotechnology or Bioinformatics or equivalent degree in relevant disciplines or B.E. / B.Tech. in Chemical Engineering / Chemical Technology / Bioinformatics   / Blochemical Food Technology / Agriculture Engineering / Environmental Engineering or equivalent degree in relevant discipline or MBBS / B.Pharma / B.V.Sc. / B.D.S with at least 60% marks (for General / OBC candidates), and 55% marks (for SC / ST candidates) are also eligible.
• For admission to M.Tech. (Food Technology), candidates having B.Tech. degree in Food Technology or Chemical Engineering / Chemical Technology or any branch other than Food Technology are eligible. Candidates having degree of M.Sc. (Chemistry) with at least 60% marks (for General / OBC candidates), & 55% marks (for SC / ST candidates) are also eligible.

Candidates not having Mathematics at Intermediate level shall be required to compulsorily qualify a non credit course on Mathematics of Intermediate level in the first semester of M.Tech. programme.

Fee Structure:

Hostel Charges:

• Room Rent per seat [ Bichpuri Campus]: Rs. 15,000=00 per annum.
• Admission to Hostel at Bichpuri Campus shall be made by committee constituted for the purpose.

 Mess Advance:

• Boys Rs. 2,500/- Per Month
• Girls Rs. 2,500/- Per Month

 Conveyance Charges:

• For Day Scholars: Rs. 15,000.00 per year.

The annual fees structure of the institute is in accordance with the recommendations of the Fees Fixation Committee of the U.P State Government. The details of the same are available on the university website www.uptu.ac.in under the link 'Fee Structure' as www.afrcup.in. The fee once charged will not be refunded in any case, even if the student does not attend the classes. The fees are required to be deposited through Demand Draft in favour of “ Raja Balwant Singh Engineering Technical Campus” ,payable at Agra.

Library: The college has a well-equipped air-conditioned library to cater to the needs of staff and students. This Library has Thirty Thousand (30,000) books and 5000 Titles. Various Journals of Technology and Sciences are also available. This library contributes to about One hundred and Forty five journals including Forty Six foreign journals and twenty-two magazines. The books are issued to the students for a specified time period. Books are also available in the Reference section. These books are not issued but are available to be used in the reading room of the library.

Hostels: The hostels at Bichpuri, accommodate nearly 1250 students in spacious, well ventilated and well furnished rooms equipped with adequate furniture. Four hostels for boys and One separate hostel for girls are available for students of B.Tech. and M.Tech. There is provision of RO water plants and Generator Backup facility in case of Power Failure in all the hostels. The hostels are fully safe and enclosed with boundary wall and have the provisions of Indoor and Outdoor games and recreation facilities for the students.
