The turn of 21″ century was the beginning of era of technological advancements along with outsourcing of business by the developed countries to India, being the major manpower hub. Vikas Educational Society committed to social upliftment accepted this challenge which resulted in genesis of Ludhiana College of Engineering and Technology (LCET) in the year 2002. LCET is approved by All India Council for Technical Education & Govt. of Punjab and affiliated to Punjab Technical University, Jalandhar for offering undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Engineering, Management and Computer Applications. LCET is keeping pace with the increasing need for skilled human resource in the National & International Industry by imparting quality education. The Vikas Educational Society has always been eager to take all required initiatives for the betterment of the students. Eligibility:

 

B. Tech:

 

Eligibility Criteria (Educational Qualification and Resident Status) for admission:-

  • For admission to the Engineering Courses, 85% seats shall be open for the candidates from within the State and 15% shall be open for the candidates from outside the state.
  • Admission shall be made on the basis of rank of JEE (Main) conducted by CBSE, New Delhi for both 85% quota for residents of Punjab and 15% quota for outside Punjab.

For Engineering & Technology Courses:-

All those candidates who have passed the 10+2 examination from a board recognized or established by central /state government through legislation with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with one of the following subject:

  • Chemistry
  • Biotechnology
  • Computer Science and
  • Biology

                                                                                                     OR

Those candidates who have passed diploma in any Engineering Trade from Punjab State Board of Technical Education & Industrial Training, Chandigarh or Sant Longowal Institute of Engineering and Technology Longowal (SLIET), or any such examination from any other recognized State Board of Technical Education.

                                                                                                     OR

  • The candidates who have passed two year certificate course from Sant Longowal Institute of Engineering and Technology, Longowal (SLIET) shall be eligible.
  • The candidates who are appearing in the qualifying examination shall also be eligible to appear for counselling based on JEE (Main) merit. The admission of such candidates shall be purely provisional and shall stand cancelled, if they fail to produce their eligibility at the time of admission and such candidates shall have no claim, whatsoever, for admission to these courses through Counselling.

General Conditions:-

  • Appearing in JEE (Main) shall be compulsory for students claiming seats under 85% quota reserved for Punjab residents and also to students claiming /seats under 15% quota reserved for those outside Punjab i.e. All India. If a candidate is not able to produce his residence certificate, he / she shall be considered for 15% quota only.
  • Admission to the Engineering courses, both for 85% seats for resident of Punjab and 15% seats for outsiders shall be made strictly on the basis of JEE (Main) and in case seats are not being filled under respective categories, admission may be considered on the basis of qualifying examination.
  • If the candidates who have taken entrance examination i.e. JEE (Main) are not available, the admission can be made on the basis of inter se merit in qualifying examination.

Lateral Entry to B. Tech:

  • All those candidates who have passed Diploma examination from an AICTE approved institution and have obtained at least 45% marks (40% in case of candidates belonging to reserved category) in appropriate branch of Engineering / Technology shall be eligible to apply.
  • All those candidates who have passed B. Sc Degree from a recognized University as defined by UGC, with at least 45% marks (40% in case of candidates belonging to reserved category) and XII standard with mathematics as a subject shall be eligible to apply.
  • Students, who have passed B. Sc Degree from a recognized University as defined by UGC, shall clear subjects of Engineering Graphics / Engineering Drawing and Engineering Mechanics of the first year engineering program along with second year subjects.
  • Students belonging to B.Sc. Stream may further note that they shall be consider only after filling the supernumerary seats in this category with students belonging to the Diploma stream.

BBA/ BCA/ B. Sc (IT): All those candidates who have passed the 10+2 or its equivalent examination in any stream conducted by a recognized Board /University /Council.

                                                                OR

Those candidates who have passed their Matriculation examination AND have also passed three year diploma in any Trade from Punjab State Board of Technical Education & Industrial Training, Chandigarh of such Examination from any other recognized State Board of Technical Education, or Sant Longowal Institute of Engineering & Technology, Longowal.

 

M. Tech:

  • All those candidates who have passed B.E. / B. Tech. with at least 50% (45% in case of candidates belonging to reserved category) marks in aggregate and with valid GATE Score shall be eligible to apply for Post graduation level M. Tech. course.
  • From the academic session 2017-18, 85% seats will be reserved for the candidates from within the Punjab State and 15% will be open to candidates from outside the State.
  • Admission to M. Tech. course both 85% Seats for resident of Punjab and 15% seats for outsiders shall be made strictly on the basis of valid GATE score and in case seats haven’t been filled under respective categories, admission shall be considered on the basis of inter se merit in qualifying examination

MBA:

  • All those candidates who have passed Bachelors Degree of minimum three year duration in any discipline from a University recognized by the UGC and with valid rank in CMAT shall be eligible to apply for MBA course.
  • From the academic session 2017-18, 85% seats will be reserved for the candidates from within the Punjab State and 15% will be open to candidates from outside the State.
  • In case the candidates from entrance examination i.e. CMAT are not available and seats are still vacant, admission can be made on the inter-se-merit of the qualifying examination.

MCA:

  • Candidates shall be admitted to 3 year MCA course on the basis of inter-se-merit in the qualifying examination.
  • All those candidates who have passed any recognized bachelor’s degree of minimum three year duration with Mathematics/ Statistics/ Business Mathematics/ Business Statistics/ Quantitative Techniques as compulsory/ Optional/ additional paper as one of the subject either at 10+2 or at graduation level.

                                                                      OR

Have passed BCA course of minimum three year duration from any recognized University.

 

MCA (LEET): All those candidates who have passed Recognized Bachelor’s Degree of minimum 3 Yrs duration in BCA, B.Sc. (IT/Computer Science) with Mathematics as a course at 10+2 level or at Graduation Level. Obtained at least 50% (45% in case of candidates belonging to reserved category) at the qualifying Examination.

 

Admission Process:

 

Admission to the First Year of Engineering, MCA &MBA Courses:

  • From the sanctioned seats, 85 % seats would be reserved for the candidates from within the state & 15% will be open to the candidates outside the states. The eligibility criteria for 85 % seats are that the candidate should be a resident of Punjab state in accordance with the department of Personnel & Administrative Reforms (PPI Branch). Punjab Govt. letter No 1.3/95 dated 6th June, 1996 & Letter No-l/3/95 3PPI/81 dated 1st Jan. l999.The candidates would be required to submit a certificate to this effect from Principal/ Head of the Institution last attended on the prescribed Performa.
  • Admission for 85% seats for State candidates & 15% for outsiders shall be made strictly on JEE/MET/MAT 2017 respectively. In case seats not filled under the respective category eligibility may be considered (if the candidate has appeared in the entrance examination i.e., JEE/MET/MAT 2018 conducted by the declared authorized agency by the State/Centre Govt.) as such on the inter se merit in the qualifying examination.
  • Candidates claiming seats under 15 % quota reserved for outside Punjab candidates are required to appear in JEE 2018.
  • Admissions to the Engineering courses, both for 85% seats for resident of Punjab and 15% seats for outsiders shall be made strictly on the basis of merit in JEE 2017-2018 and in case seats not being filled under respective category. The admission can take place on the inter se merit in qualifying examination.
  • After counselling the vacant seats will be filled under management quota.

LCET has an independent consultancy, training & placement cell. This cell continuously holds mock interviews, GD’s, seminars, symposiums, workshops and arranges practical training in reputed industries for the engineering and management students. This cell also develops liaison with prestigious academic and industrial organizations for higher studies and placement of the students. LCET is whole heartedly implementing the 3-I programme i.e. Institute, Industry and Interface concept by establishing Consultancy, Training & Placement Cell (CTP Cell) on the pattern of international standards in Engineering & Managerial traits. LCET CTP Cell is devoted to cater to the needs of organizations in conducting campus interviews for placements. LCET CTP Cell was inaugurated on 6 Nov, 2007 by Dr. M.S. Kang, Vice-Chancellor, Punjab Agricultural University, a world known agricultural university. The industry has also responded positively to these 3-I program of LCET CTP Cell & is coming forward for alliances & projects with:
