Students are being trained in real life situations to effectively respond to business issues. There is an increasing emphasis on work experience prior to postgraduate studies and share past knowledge to help chart a roadmap for the future of business. Moreover, intercultural and cross-cultural understanding has become an important component in a global manager’s profile. Today’s business education should encompass these issues too. A business school programme should enable students to deal with issues and ideas that are important for business creation and development. It should also help students develop competencies that go beyond theoretical knowledge and make their education relevant.
JGBS recognises that the availability of committed and competent faculty is one of the most important components of a global business school. It will attract scholars of international eminence. In accordance with internationally accepted norms, JGBS will also endeavour to keep the student-faculty ratio at a level prevailing in the best universities. To build world class consulting and research competence, JGBS will have mainly full-time residential faculty, who will establish and lead research centres of excellence in various areas. Core and elective modules of the curriculum will be taught by residential and visiting faculty from both India and abroad. Management practitioners and business leaders will be involved in teaching and mentoring of students in the MBA and MBL Programmes. Faculty members will be expected to disseminate their research findings to the wider world of scholarship by presenting papers in seminars and conferences as well as publications in top tier journals. |
