The Institute of Hotel Management, Catering Technology & Applied Nutrition, Jyotisar, Distt. Kurukshetra is an Autonomous Institute jointly sponsored by Ministry of Tourism, Government of India and Department of Tourism, Government of Haryana. It is a society registered under Society of Registration Act with District Registrar of Firms & Societies, Kurukshetra. Its first academic session will commence from July 2008. It is located on Kurukshetra – Pehowa Road, adjacent to famous Kalpana Chawla Plantarium, and is 2 kms from Kurukshetra University. Kurukshetra town is situated 160 km North to Delhi on the National Highway No 1 and is connected to rail & road net works. Kurukshetra is also famous for 'seat of learning' having Kurukshetra University and Regional Engineering College. The Institute of Hotel Management, Catering Technology & Applied Nutrition is another addition to this famous educational city.

Kurukshetra is a place of great historical and religious importance, revered all over the country for its sacred association. It was here that Lord Krishna preached his philosophy of ‘KARMA’ to Arjuna, as enshrined in Holy Bhagwat Gita. In the very first verse of Bhagwat Gita, Kurukshetra is described as DHARAMSHETRA i.e. ‘Region of Righteousness’. Synonymously, Kurukshetra is a right place for Institute of Hotel Management, Catering Technology and Applied Nutrition, for dissemination knowledge, attitude and professional skill to its students, opting admissions in Degree / Diploma Programs. The facilities and amenities have been created adhering to accredited norms of National Council for Hotel Management in respect to building planning, staffing, equipment requirements, and infrastructure facilities; for creating a model Hotel Management Institute in the country.

Scholarship: Scholarship is provided to eligible SC / ST / BC candidates under Govt. of India Post Matric Scholarship Scheme.

Eligibility:

B.Sc:

• The minimum qualification for admission is 10+2 system of Senior Secondary Education or its equivalent with English as one of the compulsory subject.
• Age limit is 22 years for General / PH and 25 years for SC / ST candidates as on 1st July. In the case of Scheduled Caste / Scheduled Tribe candidates, upper age limit is relax-able by 3 years.
• Candidates appearing in 10+2 or equivalent examination can appear in JEE for being considered on provisional basis. Provisional admissions will stand cancelled if proof of having passed the qualifying examination (10+2 or its equivalent) is not submitted to the concerned Institute. 
• Admission will be subject to verification of facts from the original certificates / documents to be produced by the candidates. Decision of NCHM&CT regarding the eligibility shall be final. Even after admission to the Institute if an applicant is at a later date found ineligible on account of supplying false information of false testimonials or for having suppressed any material information, his / her admission will be cancelled and the fee paid will also be forfeited.

PGDAOM:

• The minimum qualification for admission is Graduation in any stream from a recognize University.
• Age limit is 25 years for General / PH and 28 years for SC / BC candidates as on 1.07.2012. Candidates belonging to General and Physically Handicapped categories whose date of birth falls on or after July 1, 1986 are eligible. In the case of Scheduled Caste / Backward Class candidates, upper age limit is relax-able by 3 years. Candidates belonging to SC / BC categories born on or after July 1, 1984 will be eligible.
• Date of birth as recorded in the Secondary Education Board / Pre-University Certificate is the only authentic proof that will be accepted. At the time of counseling, this certificate must be produced in original as a proof of age, failing which the candidate will not be considered for admission.

• Admission will be subject to verification of facts from the original certificates / documents to be produced by the candidates. Decision of Principal, Institute of Hotel Management, Kurukshetra regarding the eligibility shall be final. Even after admission to the Institute if an applicant is at a later date found ineligible on account of supplying false information of false testimonials or for having suppressed any material information, his / her admission will be cancelled and the fee paid will also be forfeited.

DFPFBS:

• The minimum qualification for admission is 10+2 system of Senior Secondary Education or its equivalent with English as one of the compulsory subject.
• Age limit is 25 years for General / PH and 28 years for SC / BC candidates as on 1.07.2012. Candidates belonging to General and Physically Handicapped categories whose date of birth falls on or after July 1, 1986 are eligible. In the case of Scheduled Caste / Backward Class candidates, upper age limit is relax-able by 3 years. Candidates belonging to SC / BC categories born on or after July 1, 1984 will be eligible.
