About Us:

 

The Institute of Hotel Management Catering Technology & Applied Nutrition, Srinagar Sponsored by Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, was established in 1982 for training of candidates in the field of Hotel Management, Catering Technology and Applied Nutrition. This was the 5th Hotel Management Institute in the country and first in the state of J&K. The setting up of the institute of Hotel Management in Srinagar has been in pursuance of policy of Government of India to provide trained manpower to the Hotel and Catering Industry both in public and in private sector, the institute at Srinagar has been plying a vital role in producing trained manpower to meet the demands of this sector since its inception and is in continuing process.

 

With over two decades of setting trends in providing quality education, focused upon recent developments innovations, professionalism to all those students who want to have a professional degree, more than just the usual qualification to enter the global competitive hospitality field.

 

Objective Management competence in hospitality field is increasing extensively. The demands are to be satisfied by means of professionally qualified personnel. The Hospitality & Hotel Administration programme is designed for facing the world of competence and challenges for the personnel’s involved in the field.

 

Affiliation Institute of Hotel Management Catering Technology & Applied Nutrition, Srinagar is affiliated with the National Council for Hotel Management & Catering Technology (NCHMCT) which is an autonomous body under Ministry of Tourism, Government of India. NCHMCT in collaboration with IGNOU (Indira Gandhi National Open University) regulates academics for 3-year Bachelor of Science Programme in Hospitality and Hotel Administration.

Eligibility:

 

For B.Sc in HHA:

  • Age: 18-22 Years (3 years relaxation in case of SC/ST & OBC Category as per Govt. rules)
  • Requisite Qualification: 10+2 Pass
  • Selection Procedure: The admission to three year Degree Course is made through Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) conducted by National Council for Hotel Management Catering Technology, Noida in the month of April/May every year. The short listed candidates are subsequently counseled by NCHMCT for selection and allotment of seats to IHM’s
  • Scholarships: Please refer to NCHMCT & IGNOU websites.

For Diploma Programmes:

  • Minimum qualification: 10+2 pass in any stream or its equivalent with English as one of the compulsory subjects from any recognized Board of Education.
  • Upper age limit for candidates for General and non-creamy layer) is 25 years and OBC categories (central list, For SC/ST & sponsored candidates from the Hospitality & Tourism Industry, upper age limit is 28 years.
  • The age shall be determined as on July 01, 2015.
  • Selection of candidates shall be made strictly on the basis of personal Interview and marks obtained in 10+2 or equivalent examination.
