Pilot Training

Student Pilot Licence

The student pilot licence allows a person to fly as pilot-in-command of an aircraft under the supervision of a flight instructor for the purpose of flight training.

Before holding a student pilot permit, the student pilot may only practice during dual flight instruction with an instructor. Upon receipt of the student pilot permit, the student pilot may fly alone for purposes of flight training. Only domestic day flying with visual flight rules (VFR) is allowed under this permit and no passengers may be carried.

Legal minimum training components include:

Duration - 6 Week

No Flying Experience

Eligibility:
  • At least 16 years old for enrollment and 17 years old for graduation.
  • Physical fitness certificate from an approved medical practitioner by DGCA (CLASS-II).
  • Educational Qualifications: A pass in HSC (Math’s/Physics/Chemistry) or Equivalent.

Private Pilot Licence

What is a private pilot? Well it's the first step of many in your aviation career. A private pilot licence allows you to fly small single engine aircraft in good weather. Before you obtain your private pilot licence you are considered a student pilot. A student pilot licence learns basic aircraft handling, in-flight maneuvers, navigation, and DGCA regulations over a period of approximately 40-60hrs of flying. After getting the student pilot licence the candidate accompanied by the flying instructor proceeds for initial flying training. This is a dual flight, where the instructor or trainer accompanies the learner to teach him the practical aspect of flying. Then the candidate gets his first independent flight normally after about 15 Hour of dual flying.

Legal minimum training components include:

  • 55 hours total flight time (including 5 hours night flying)
  • 5 hours solo flight time
  • 15 hours dual flight time
  • 5 hours instrument flight time
  • 10 hours cross country time
  • A Private pilot licence Flight Test
  • Flight Radio Telephone Operator theory course and examination
  • Private pilot licence theory papers and examinations
  • Air Regulations: Including flight rules, air traffic control practices, procedures and regulations concerning operation of aircraft.
  • Air Navigation: Including elementary principles, use of aeronautical maps and charts, time, magnetism, magnetic compasses, simple navigation and simple flight –planning.
  • Aviation Meteorology : Elementary aviation meteorology including significance of aerodrome warnings, elementary knowledge in reading of met charts, met procedures, relating to cross country flights and salient features of Indian Climatology.
  • Technical: Technical aspects of aerodynamics and theory of flights, aircraft, engine, instruments, operating limitations, handling, care and pre-flight inspection.
  • Radio Telephony (F.R.T.O.L): Including transmission and interpretation of aural signals and operations of radio telephony apparatus on board the aircraft.
