Ghubaya College of Engineering & Technology (GCET) was established in 2010 by the Ghubaya Educational Society (Regd.) providing technical education within a modern educational environment and strong academic staff. GCET is strongly poised to prove its identity as a primeier engineering institution in India. We provide our students with modern educational facilities while retaining traditional values, as well as using its strong industrial contacts to mould young, talented individuals who can compete in the global arena.

The Ghubaya Educational Society(Regd.) is a brainchild of group of compassionate, like-minded and philanthropic people whose sole objective is 'Education and Help'. The group decided to come together in the service of the people of this border area and formed this society (Regd. on 21.10.2008 with the Registrar of companies under no.144 of 2008-09). Through various interactions with the people of area during the awareness/contact programmes of the society, the GES was tempted by the urgent need of providing Professional Higher Education in the technical sector for creating an industry-ready work force of Engineers & Technicians. Under the Visionary leadership & guidance of Member of Parliamentary (Loksabha) from Ferozepur constituency, Sh. Sher Singh Ghubaya, the society decided to set up and dedicate an engineering college to the people of area. Ghubaya College of Engineering & Technology(GCET) was setup in 2010, with due approval of all concerned Government Authorities initially offering B.Tech. courses in four branches of Computer Science and Engineering (C.S.E.), Electronics and Communication Engineering (E.C.E.), Civil Engineering (C.E.), Mechanical Engineering (M.E.). Under the Punjab Govt. Scheme of setting up Schools of Excellence (Secondary) in Technical Education institutes, the GCET started offering 10+2 level courses w.e.f. session 2011-12 under affiliation from Punjab School Education Board.

With a sight on bottom to top level technical training; on the request of GES, AICTE & Punjab Govt. granted approval for offering 2nd shift diploma courses in the campus of Ghubaya College of Engineering & Technology w.e.f. session 2013-14. Since its inception, the society has aimed at dispelling the darkness of ignorance through dissemination of the shimering light of Education & bringing smile to the faces of downtrodden, miserable and the needy. The trustees/Board of Governers/Officebearers are professionals of proven merit endowed with genuinely trusted credibility, formed on bed-rock of philosophy containing the quintessence of our culture, an almanac of our goodwill gesture & soulful wisdom of our sagacious sages.

Eligibility:

For B.Tech Ist Year: All those candidates who have passed the 10+2 examination from a board recognized or established by central/state government through a legislation with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with one of the following subjects:- Chemistr, Biotechnology, Computer Science and Biology

Or

Those candidates who have passed diploma in any Engineering Trade from Punjab State Board of Technical Education & Industrial Training, Chandigarh or any such examination from any other recognized State Board of Technical Education.

For B.Tech 2nd Year(Lateral Entry): All those candidates who have passed Diploma examination from an AICTE approved institution and have obtained at least 45% marks (40% in case of Candidates belonging to reserved category) in appropriate branch of Engineering / Technology shall be eligible to apply.

Or

All those candidates who have passed B. Sc. Degree from a recognized University as defined by UGC, with at least 45% marks (40% in case of Candidates belonging to reserved category) and passed XII standard with mathematics as a subject shall be eligible to apply

and

Students who have passed B. Sc. Degree from a recognized University as defined by UGC, shall clear the subject of Engineering Graphics / Engineering Drawing and Engineering Mechanics of the first year engineering program along with second year subjects.

For Diploma in Engineering:

• Admission to First Year: Pass in Matriculation with Mathematics, Science & English as compulsory subjects.
• Lateral Entry to Diploma 3rd semester: All those candidates who have passed ITI at least with one year (who passed 10th level School Leaving Examination before admission to ITI courses) and 10+2 vocational examination in various branches from any institution of Punjab/Other State and have Punjab.

Library: A well stocked library is an asset of any college and at GCET, we consider library as the mine of knowledge. Library has been set up in a wide complex and caters to the needs of students and faculty members with wide collection of latest books, national and international journals, e-journals, reference sources and CDs related to courses offered by the college. The library staff is humble enough to guide new students to learn library ethics and organises special orientatinal workshop for them to learn searching books, journals and other e-resources.

Hostel: GCET has magnificently designed hostel for boys with all modern facilities. Hygienic environment prevails in the hostel and nutritious food is given to the hostlers. Boys' hostel has the capacity to accommodate about 150 boys. Mess is maintained on co-operative or contractual basis as per consensus of Hostel residents. Hostel has common Rooms, Play-ground and Television facility. Round the clock Internet Facility is provided to the resident students via wireless connectivity.

Canteen: GCET houses a Campus Canteen which offer delicious food, superior services with innovative practices.Small eating joints have turned into more than just a place to eat.Apart from providing places where one can eat and enjoy.

Transportation: Transport facility is provided to all teachers and students from FF-Road.Transport department functions in the college with buses to provide transport facility to students and staff inbetween the Fazilka to Ferozepur Link Road.There are no limit of buses.The number of buses will be increased corresponding to the increase in the intake of students.

Wifi: Wi-Fi facility is also provide to all students in Campus and Hostel.College provided Wi-Fi Facility to each student and teacher. Wi-Fi is a local area wireless computer networking technology that allows electronic devices to network. Many devices can use Wi-Fi, e.g. personal computers, video-game consoles, smartphones, digital cameras, tablet computers and digital audio players. These can connect to a network resource such as the Internet via a wireless network access point.Depiction of a device sending information wirelessly to another device, both connected to the local network.
