- Employees’ State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) has taken initiative in starting the Medical College and the Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences and Research (PGIMSR) at Joka, Kolkata.
- This is the first endeavor in the field of Medical Education, which is a new dimension in the growth of ESIC.
- Permission for starting the Post Graduate Course in the department of Obstetrics & Gynaecology for 2 (two) seats w.e.f the academic year 2011-12 has been obtained from Central Government and Medical Council of India (MCI) as per the prescribed procedure.
- This Institute is affiliated to The West Bengal University of Health Sciences (WBUHS), Kolkata http://www.wbuhs.ac.in.
- ESI-PGIMSR, Joka has a well established ESIC Model Hospital, which is located within the premises.
