Continental Institute of Engineering and Technology (CIET) - the flagship institute of the group, has been approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi, Government of Punjab, and is affiliated to Punjab Technical University (PTU), Jalandhar. The Institute offers MBA & degree programmes (B Tech) in the field of Computer Science, IT, Electronics and Communication, Mechanical & Civil* Engineering.

Eligibility:

For B.Tech (ME,Civil, ECE, CSE, IT) : Passed 10+2 with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with one of the Chemistry/Biotechnology/Biology/ Computer Science.

B.Tech Lateral Entry to second year:

• Passed Diploma examination from an AICTE Approved Institution.
• Passed B.Sc Degree from a recognized University as defined by UGC. In addition candidate would have to clear Engg Graphics/ Engg drawing & Engg Mechanics (First yr subjects) along with the second year subjects.

For MBA: Recognized Bachelor’s Degree of minimum 3 Years duration

For M.Tech (ME) : Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in the relevant field.

For Diploma (ME, ECE): Passed 10th Standard /SSC examination

Facilities:

Wi Fi: Wi-fi Access CIET has wireless access to Internet and Intranet 24X7 at everywhere in college. Wi-Fi access has been provided with the help of state-of-the-art equipments (such as from CISCO, Motorola etc.) and data flow protection and packet filteration has been done through world recognized leading firewalls such as from Microsoft, CISCO etc.

Computer Labs: The Computer Labs has been provided with high end IBM & HCL Core 2 Duo desktops which are amply supported by additional peripherals and hardware. A compact network has been established with latest Cisco Routers and Switches. The campus is Wi-fi enabled. Dedicated leased line of 15 Mbps is available on 24*7 basis enabling the students to access internet at their convenience. There are a number of software viz. Inventor, Windows Server 2003/2000, Windows XP, SQL Server 2005/2000, MS Office XP, Turbo C++, Auto CAD, Pro-E, Visual Studio 2008/2005/2002, Adobe Photoshop, Macromedia products, UNIX (SCO), Oracle etc.

Hostels: The institute has independent fully furnished hostels for girls and boys. Situated within the campus, the hostels can accommodate about 400 students. Basic amenities like water-cooler, hot water supply in winter, common room for recreation, TV room form an integral part of the hostels. Wi-fi internet connectivity round the clock is available to the students of the hostels. The hostel mess provides healthy and hygienic food to the students. The hostellers also have the advantage of using the college library and the computer labs till late hours in the evening.

Transport: The institution has its own fleet of ultra modern buses for students from all major nearby areas like Chandigarh, Mohali, Panchkula, Kharar, Ropar, Fatehgarh Sahib , Sirhind, Khanna, Patiala, Rajpura, Zirakpur, Morinda, Mandi Gobindgarh etc.

Banking: For the expediency and convenience of students & faculty, especially hostellers, a 24 Hour ATM of Axis Bank facility is available within the college premises

Cafeteria: The college has an excellent cafeteria which is as beautiful as any top class restaurant. It is appreciable not just for its appearance but also for the delicacies it offers. Wide ranges of food including Indian, Chinese, and Continental meals are available in the cafeteria. Special care is taken to provide hygienic food to the students. All kinds of fresh juices are also available in the cafeteria. A Committee consisting of senior faculty and student representatives has been constituted to look after the affairs of the cafeteria and to monitor the services provided to the users. The cafeteria is much more than a college canteen. It provides the “feel-good” environment. The aim of cafeteria is to provide and give diligent services at reasonably priced food, snacks etc. Cafeteria is a favourite place with the students as well as the staff.

Healthcare Facility: The Campus has its own healthcare centre to look after the health of the students. On campus full time medical assistance is provided to the students through a professionally qualified and experienced doctor. An ambulance is available round the clock for any kind of emergency. The institute has tie-ups with renowned hospitals in the nearby area to handle specialized treatment. In addition to the above a lady doctor visits the campus on alternate days to counsel the girls regarding their health problems.

Training & Placement:

Continental Group of Institutes has got a strong and full-fledged Career Guidance and Placement Unit with a full time Placement Officer.
