Army College of Dental Sciences, Secunderabad has been established under the aegis of Army Welfare Education Society as a Centre of Excellence for Dental education. The College aims at imparting a high standard of dental education coupled with the development of good moral character for the children of regular Army personnel/regular Army pensioners and war widows. Army College of Dental Sciences, Secunderabad is affiliated to Dr NTR University of Health Sciences, Vijayawada (A.P). The College has been Recognised by the Dental Council of India and Ministry of Health & Family. The Army College of Dental Sciences is Private Un-Aided & Non-Minority, Educational Institution.

The College offers the course leading to award of degree of Bachelor of Dental Surgery by Dr NTR University of Health Sciences, Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh. The duration of the course is four years of active study plus twelve months of training of rotatory internship. PG courses in the departments of Pedodontics & Preventive Dentistry, Orthodontics & Dentofacial Orthopedics, Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, Prosthodontics and Crown & Bridge, Conservative Dentistry & Endodontics and Periodontology have commenced.

Eligibility:

The admission to ACDS is for the children of eligible of serving Army Personnel, eligible ex Army personnel and widows of the Army. The children of following categories of Army personnel are eligible and they are required to submit the relevant certificate as given against the category applicable to them as proof of their eligibility for admission to ACDS along with the application form. Children of serving Army personnel with minimum 10 years continuous service in the Army. Children of ex-Army personnel granted/awarded regular pension, liberalized family pension, family pension or disability pension at the time of their superannuation, demise, discharge, release medical board/invalided medical board. This includes wards of recruits medically boarded and granted disability pension. Children of ex-Army personnel who have taken discharge or released after ten years of service. Adopted/step children and children of remarried widows. Adopted child of Army personnel if adopted at least five years prior to seeking admission. Step children are eligible provided they are born from a wedding where at least one parent belonged to the Army who is otherwise eligible. Wards of only those ex-Army Medical Officers/Army Dental Corps officers presently serving with Indian Navy or Indian Air Force who have served with the Army for at least 10 years. Children of APS personnel classified as ex-servicemen. Children of those APS personnel who are on deputation and who have put in 10 years of service in the Army. Children of APS personnel, who are directly recruited into APS who have completed 10 years of service and of those who as per their terms and conditions of service, retired from APS without reversion to P&T Dept after completing their minimum pensionable service of which 10 years was in the Army. Children of only those members of MNS who have10 years service as regular members of MNS or are in receipt of pension from the Army. Children of only those TA personnel who have completed 10 years of embodied service.

Educational Qualifications:

• The higher secondary examination or the Indian School Certificate Examination which is equivalent to 10+2 Higher Secondary Examination after a period of 12 years study, the last two years of study comprising of Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Mathematics or any other elective subjects with English; or
• The Intermediate examination in Science of an Indian University/Board or other recognized examining body with Physics, Chemistry and Biology which shall include a practical test in these subjects and also English as a compulsory subject; or
• The pre-professional/pre-medical examination with Physics, Chemistry and Biology, after passing either the higher secondary school examination, or the pre-university or an equivalent examination. The pre-professional/premedical examination shall include a practical test in Physics, Chemistry and Biology and also English as a compulsory subject; or
• The first year of the three years degree course of a recognized university with Physics, Chemistry and Biology including a practical test in three subjects provided the examination is a university examination and candidate has passed 10+2 with English at a level not less than a core course. B.Sc examination of an Indian University, provided that he/she has passed the B.Sc examination with not less than two of the following subjects Physics, Chemistry, Biology (Botany, Zoology) and further that he/she has passed the earlier qualifying examination with the following subjects Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English; or
• Any other examination which, in scope and standard is found to be equivalent to the Intermediate science examination of an Indian University/Board, taking Physics, Chemistry and Biology including practical test in each of these subjects and English. He/she must have passed in the subjects individually and must have obtained a minimum of 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology taken together as one and in the same sitting. Compartmental pass candidates are not eligible for admission

Age: The candidate should have completed the age of 17 years at the time of admission or will complete this age on 31st December, 2017.

Selection Procedure: The admission will be strictly on merit ranking, based on marks obtained in NEET BDS-2018. The merit list will be prepared based on the aggregate marks obtained by the candidates in the NEET. Candidates are advised to check the ACDS website on 01st week of July, 2013 for the list of candidates to attend counseling.
