  • Library : As per AICTE norms, a library should have 2500 books for 300 students at the first year level. A library can comfortably issue 6 books per student. However, in most colleges only 3 books are issued per student, and for a maximum period of 15 days. Post the 15 day time period, the student can renew the book based on the number of students waiting on the book. Another major drawback in the library policy of most colleges is the student having to return the book before the Hall Ticket is issued for appearing for the exams. However, this is when the student needs the book the most, just before appearing for the exams! At AIT-B, we have met and even exceeded the expectations of AICTE. All students must compulsorily borrow 6 books from the library. Failure to do so within a week of starting of classes will be brought to the notice of the parents. The students are expected to keep the books for an entire semester and return the books only after the semester examinations. This ensures that books are available with the student at the crucial time of preparing for the examinations, thus ensuring good results.
